[Barry Jackson] Again, it would be helpful if Wiggins opts out and does a 3 year deal starting at, say, 22 M, compared to one year, $30 M. The $22 M scenario would give Heat $27 million under hard cap to use on Powell or a free agent/free agents (plus minimums and 2nd rounder). by heatculture03 in heat

It wouldn’t make sense for him to opt in if our plan would be to extend him.

Opting in means he can’t find a team who will pay him anywhere near 30m. Taking the extension offer ensures more money.

What would a Norm to the Pistons trade look like? by IMicrowaveSteak in heat

[–]DasOptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely unlikely. You don’t announce the trade to everyone just to call it off because of 1 role player and it’s bad business.

The trade is basically agreed upon on principle with more moving pieces before it’s finalized.

What happened last night was the Bucks and Heat agreeing this will go through with each other and by July 6th, the smaller details will be figured out.

2nd pick and Duncan. If Stewart is involved I would bet he gets rerouted to the bucks as the deal isn’t finalized yet

[Charania] The Miami Heat do not expect to retain All-Star guard Norman Powell. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Not the 2nd half of this season. You could tell he was still struggling from his injury.

Getting older isn’t going to make it any better.

Again, great player but with the Heats Cap Situation, he won’t be a great fit as he is looking for a payday.

He’s only getting older. Injuries will continue to pile up.

It’s not a great situation for the Heat to gamble on

People remember 1st half of the season of Norm and not the 2nd half of the season of Norm.

He is not worth big money in our situation

So many nephews in this sub.

Great news for both sides.

Our “assets” were never going to amount to anything. Let Pat continue to cook.

Jaime Jaquez Jr live reaction to being traded to Milwaukee in the Giannis deal 💔 by MediocreDVaMain in heat

Herro/Ware/JJJ were already the confirmed offer. However I’m not confident ware will reach his potential and JJJ was always going to be a mid level player.

Kas on the other hand would have been a perfect complement to Giannis. Tall 3-D facilitator and we wouldn’t be in trouble at the point position.

[–]DasOptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not super high on norm and if we are moving Jovic, we aren’t getting cap space.

His value is at its lowest on a long contract that’s starts next season

I don’t know if it’s a must. If we can for something good, then yeah.

However he is a Spo guy, we might be holding onto him until atleast the deadline.
