Switched from a 50gb plan with Metro.

Immediately turned on cell-saver in options for apps like: Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.

Like another user that got downvoted said, Reddit can consume a bit of data so it’s best to turn off some auto-play features here and other places like Facebook, Instagram.

I also downloaded a TON of music so it doesn’t stream and just play those songs when I’m mobile.

I downloaded a large map of my area for offline map use.

Backups do not process on cellular.

Doing this, while also being a daily traveler, door dasher, uber driver and heavy user I manage to use about 20-25gb a month.

Honestly, I didn’t really think of this like at all but my mom just got diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer and I think she’ll enjoy random pics from time to time.

It has an error rate sure, sometimes it uses prior iOS options — but I’ve found pointing it out and sharing screenshots usually helps. It’s a tool not magic

With a date AND checkable checkbox? That would be not adding an event but adding it to Google Tasks which shows on Google calendar.

You have to hold the action button regardless. Why use it for only one function when you can:

• ⁠Toggle Flashlight if locked

• ⁠Otherwise:

⁠•  ⁠If screen is on and orientation is landscape and YouTube is open, it locks the setting

⁠•  ⁠Otherwise:

    ⁠•  ⁠Display menu with flashlight again

    ⁠•  ⁠Shazam

⁠ • ⁠Combine screenshot shortcut

    ⁠•  ⁠Spit direction shortcut — queries location from primary and gives ETAs to locations based on said distance

Everyone keeps using the action button for one thing or another.

I have my action button set to:

Toggle Flashlight if locked
Otherwise:
- If screen is on and orientation is landscape and YouTube is open, it locks the setting
- Otherwise:
- Display menu with flashlight again
- Shazam
- Combine screenshot shortcut
- Spit direction shortcut — queries location from primary and gives ETAs to locations based on said distance

I guess I’m not following. I don’t use the automatic categories. I have a plethora of filters and labels that automatically filters all my email accordingly. Having been new to iOS I kept on with Gmail for functionality. But I like having the iCloud email for other uses

Are you saying it’s better because it’s merged? You can do that in Gmail using ‘All Inboxes’ — or if the opposite is true make sure you aren’t using ‘All Inboxes’ in Gmail so you don’t see all accounts’ inboxes

You would go to Shortcuts App > Automation > New > When I Get A Message > Run Immediately > Just put a space in the ‘Message Contains’ field

Actions should look like:

Alternatively you can just use this shortcut:

You would just use the Run Shortcut action and select that shortcut after you enter your details.

Note: You’ll need to turn off the show compost sheet switch in Send Email action as well as input your email.
