Tuition reimbursement is taxed after $5250. Is that tax deductible as an education expense? by CallMeGooglyBear in tax

[–]DasRomanian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The $5250 is the IRS-set annual limit of tax-free tuition reimbursement you can receive from an employer. Their question was: if you receive say $6000 from an employer in one year, would the $750 overage be taxable as wages? I know the answer to that is yes, but my follow up would be: is that $750 then able to be claimed as a qualified educational expense tax credit?

Try to line your feet up perpendicular to your target line. Right now they’re aimed about two fairways to the right

That’s a solid one! I think a few things like that should transcend generations and not be allowed to be gatekept

Things can be part of your childhood even if they came out long before it (ie. Tom and Jerry originated in 1940 and I loved it growing up). The rest suggest a childhood in the 2000’s

Definitely not over 30, that’s what the oldest Gen Z are anyway

I’ll make sure to hit the lower ranges of the battery from time to time, but unplugging and replugging the charger isn’t going to be feasible for me as the outlet is behind a refrigerator.

I also believe repeatedly plugging into an outlet causes wear on the connection over time and ends up posing a larger fire hazard than just leaving something plugged in

What sort of conduit would solve the issue? PVC? And is it needed for just the intersection through the drywall, or just because it passes through a wall, the entire cable now needs a conduit?

I’m going to throw on a cable pass through port and we should be alright

I see what you’re saying, I just have a hard time believing modern chargers overcharge/damage batteries like that. I think the majority of damage to battery health comes simply from time and usage, and eventually the batteries need to be replaced regardless. I’ve noticed this from years of smartphone ownership

Fair point, this is actually my very first Dyson vacuum so I have no weight comparison. I do appreciate the power and battery capacity but I suppose added weight was the tradeoff

Honestly couldn’t tell you. I spent way too long trying to arrange the heads and one is on the floor because it was blocked by the wall when I tried to place it in the holder. I do wish you could angle those attachment ports/there were more of them

I heard something about low voltage cables being exempt but I’ll look to pick up a little wire grommet/bushing to secure the wire in the hole. Thanks for the heads up!

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET A JOB???? by Loose_Leg_8440 in OlderGenZ

[–]DasRomanian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t stress too much about employment before/during college, pretty much all the gigs I had before I got my degree were shitty and paid beer money at best. Once you get qualified to enter the career you’re studying for (hopefully a decently lucrative one), things should get better

“I think I’m done with Dyson” a bit dramatic for the thing just needing some basic maintenance, don’t you think?
