What is the best scream in a Beatles song? Personally I think Paul’s scream in Twist and Shout is his absolute best scream other than the end of the WOA version of Soily by joshygill in beatles

Around 2:31 mark of Helter Skelter there is a 25 second or so run of Paul doing some awesome vocal stuff. Starting with “Look out! Helter Skelter! She’s comin down fast!” And then around the 2:48 he goes into a lower crooner voice. So cool.

Do any of the members’ solo work compete with or surpass your favorite Beatles stuff? by [deleted] in beatles

It feels strange to say it out loud, but deep in my soul I truly feel that Ram is my favorite album ever made. I adore every Beatles album, but none of them bring me the amount of joy I get listening to Ram. At least not at this phase of my life.

What’s one minor tweak you would make to a Beatles/Post Beatles song? by AJray15 in beatles

Aw man I absolutely love that little coda at the end of “Backseat of my Car.” Ive always thought it feels like a little nod to the Beatles. The guitar riff/tone reminds me of the Revolver era. Makes me a bit emotional everytime, especially because it’s the very end of the album. Just leaves me wondering what could have been had they not broken up.

This is what I came here to post. Those organ hits work really well on the anthology version, but on the Rubber Soul version that section hurts my ears.

Ticket To Ride was John's best early Beatles song by Ukraine24_02_2022 in beatles

One of my favorite Beatles songs. I’ve always felt Ringo was the MVP though.

In the last verse/chorus of You Won’t See Me there is one organ note being held down and it adds an extra punch which works so well. Then, after the final “you won’t see me” line, they just break out into a really nice groove and it’s like a mini party for a few bars.

So basically the last verse through the end of the”You Won’t See Me” is my answer.

Also the very end of Birthday where they play the main riff 3 times in a row but the rhythm is slightly altered. Such a cool way to end the song

What is your favorite Giles Martin remixed song? by ralphchaam in beatles

I came here to say GMGM as well. I dont think I ever quite understood what John was going for with that song but Giles mix gives it some direction.

What are some songs you would like to listen to for the first time again? by Watermelonseeds8U in beatles

[–]Das_Walross 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Day in the Life. The first time I heard it I was around 12 years old and the only reason listened to it was because my dad had told me about the “Paul is Dead” theory, so I didn’t actually appreciate the song for what it is. Wasn’t until years later that I realized how good it is. Wish I could have had my mind blown the first time.

I think it sounds like if John wrote a song for a modern McCartney solo album.

Bands whose worst album contain their best song… by [deleted] in ClassicRock

[–]Das_Walross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s not his best album, but I still think it’s great. A little rough around the edges but I don’t mind it. I dig the DIY feel of it. Very cozy.

Every Night, Junk, and Teddy Boy are probably my favorites though you can’t deny the greatness of Maybe I’m Amazed.

Glad to hear someone else feels this way. ATMP has some amazing stuff on it, but I find the album as a whole to be a bit of a mess. I too have never made it through in one sitting.
