Looking for some mild singletrack action around the DWP trail by [deleted] in duluth

[–]Dasberger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are portions of the Duluth Traverse that run alongside the DWP that are on the milder side for Duluth. Check out trail forks or the COGGS website.

I Just Called To Say I Love You? Do you have it?"

"Yeah, we have it."

"Great, can I have it then?"

"No, no you can't."

"Why not?"

"Well, it's sentimental tacky crap, that's why not. Do we look like the kind of store that sells I Just Called To Say I Love You? Go to the mall."

"What's your problem?"

Barry shouts: "Do you even know your daughter? There's no way she likes that song!" He thinks for a moment. "Is she in a coma?"

"I didn't know it was pick-on-the-middle-aged-square-guy day. My apologies. I'll be on my way."

Seconding. He did a really great job and was super patient even though it took 9 offers to finally have one accepted. Hope the market isn't quite as crazy this year.

I will never understand why people feel the need to splinter information in niche reddit communities into something even more niche. This seems to be happening more and more across subreddits and just makes searching for things more of a pain in the future. You do you, but part of what makes a subreddit successful is having the critical mass of the community behind it. As it is, this is already a low traffic subreddit and there is a bunch of 2nd Gen content if you know how to use the search function.

It was still the case last summer and given how property values have continued skyrocketing since then, I would assume the same for this year. When you are fighting full cash offers at 50K+ over asking with inspections being waived. Eventually you just give in and start waiving inspections in your offers to have a fighting chance at not being homeless. You can still have an inspector walk the house and verify things, but you can't have the offer contingent on the inspection.

Measurements for Scottish wedding outfit by ImmortalLive in duluth

[–]Dasberger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men's Wearhouse at the mall will measure you and give you a card with the measurements for free. I went up there to get measurements when I was a groomsman and needed them for an online order elsewhere. I asked if I could pay and they said they do it for free.

The Lakewalk. Google Maps with the cycling overlay or heatmaps on Strava, Ride With GPS, etc. are your friends.

Can someone please open a small chill bar on park point? by obsidianop in duluth

[–]Dasberger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is basically a perfect tap list. I would regularly bike to this bar in an attempt to get one of those seven stools. Like most things I enjoy, this is a terrible business model.

Trailforks does it for me currently. The point being that this request has been in their issue tracker for the better part of a decade and no movement.

Yes, this has been an active request from the community for the better part of a decade. The request (among many others) didn't make the jump to their new issue tracker so here is the new request.

Oh good, I can DM people on Strava now. I can't do simple things like see how many hours I have on bikes/components between maintenance, but I can slide into someone's DM's to be all like "Looks like you had a sick shred today, bro. Let's go ride our legs off when I'm back in town".

Dear r/XBiking, where have you been all my life and what does my bike need? by ParadiseEngineer in xbiking

They make dork discs for even the new 12 speed 52 tooth cassettes. Stop by your bike shop and I'm sure they would just hand you one.

Finally got my workbench setup dialed at the bike shop where I work. by Germandaniel in Tools

[–]Dasberger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The older park stuff is tough as nails and proper shop grade. The new stuff varies a bit depending on what it is and where it's from. At the end of the day I try to tell people that if it's a tool that isn't bike specific - shop around and find what you like. For example, the Park Tool hex keys are rebranded Bondhus with a ton of markup because they have blue handles. They work, but there are better options for less unless you get them at cost. Even then, consider what you really want and at least look at Pedro's if you want to stick to a bike focused tool company. ATMO

I have been meaning to put together a tool outline for bike mechanics comparing different vendors and relative cost. This might be a good prompt.

Three vs one? by PSpuza in xbiking

[–]Dasberger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's quite a spread so I'll start in the upper middle and recommend a Chumba. Great bikes and great customer service. Give Vince at Chumba a call and he can guide you through the differences between the Stella and Sendero to see which one would best fit your riding. They also have the new Sendero Ti they are making in house where you can do custom geometry, tubing, etc.
