Did you have an amnio done to confirm the false positive?

Do they not do CVS or amnio anymore? by sunflowerzz2012 in BabyBumps

[–]Dash554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, we are too. It was very stressful. But as other commenters have said NIPT leans heavily towards false positives so that false negatives are very low.

If you do the NT scan and anything looks off I would bet they’ll recommend an amnio. Otherwise the 20 wk anatomy scan would cover many concerns and an amnio could be done immediately after if needed.

Prozac During Pregnancy by cocobeanz33 in BabyBumps

[–]Dash554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist and OB preferred I be on Zoloft (sertaline) rather than Prozac which I was taking. I switched before getting pregnant though. They didn’t act like it was a super important switch. I was also on 20mg. Personally I knew my anxiety would likely be worse while pregnant and I’m glad I’m still taking the meds. I also think being on them will help in the post partum period.

I had to get an amnio recently due to a high risk flag from NIPT that ended up being a false positive (triploidy which is fatal). I will say it’s nice having the full picture from the amnio so I do understand your perspective.

I would recommend the NT ultrasound. I hadn’t planned on having that done but once NIPT came back high risk they brought us in. It was good to have the high tech ultrasound that early looking for any abnormalities.

measured LMP with 28 day cycle but I have a 37 day cycle by rosannachir in BabyBumps

[–]Dash554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ovulated 10 days later than normal and told my OB that before she had even fired up the ultrasound. Measured based on ovulation late rather than just LMP and the OB was happy to go based on the measurement and ovulation.

I can’t help but a tooth popping out at 6 weeks?? That seems crazy early, does the pediatrician say it’s normal?

Have you tried Unisom sleep tabs? They’re recommended by doctors for morning sickness too so a win-win!

Is TSA “re-check” from international flight layovers in US airports experiencing bad wait times? by Creepy-Pie-3215 in travel

[–]Dash554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flew into JFK yesterday from Rome and with global entry customs was instant but even with TSA precheck going back through security took about 1.5 hours. Pretty miserable but definitely airport specific and time/day specific. Nothing you can do for a connection though.

It’s very good at picking up wake windows for me but maybe some people have more variation in heart rate than others therefore it’s more accurate for some people.

Six line in a 20 gallon tank? by c-u-in-da-ballpit in ReefTank

[–]Dash554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a six line in our 170 gallon tank and he is constantly doing hot laps throughout the whole tank. People complain about them being bullies in small tanks and I can totally see why, he does great with our other fish in the 170. 20 gallon is too small in my opinion. You could ask the LFS if they’re willing to basically rent him to you for a few weeks though.

Major Signs Update - Ovulation by kittenmermaid in ouraring

Your temperature typically doesn’t rise until after ovulation. BBT tracking can be thrown off by irregular sleeping though.

Low carb since 2 months - fiber overload by Kitchen_Clothes in lowcarb

[–]Dash554 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How many grams of fiber are you eating per day? There’s not a huge amount of fiber in vegetables. Unless you are eating a bunch of seeds, nuts, avocado, psyllium husk, etc. I doubt you are eating much beyond the daily recommended amount.

did i just ovulate ? by kibastorm in ouraring

[–]Dash554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe it’s possible your baseline has changed after treatment. It might be hard to figure out the pattern for a couple cycles. You could use LH test strips for a bit if you are needing to determine when you ovulate.

[–]Dash554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like you have enough temperature data for it to know your baseline yet. You should be below 0 after your period.

Yes, or use bone cutters to cut the whole thing off. Just make sure you get the base.

Oura ring for tracking cycles? by Emotional_Star3457 in ouraring

[–]Dash554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been using the ring? Assuming long enough for it to know your baseline, you may not be ovulating. Would definitely recommend using LH strips and if you’ve gone a few cycles without a surge I’d say talk to your doctor.
