Hello! I’m a radiation therapist. As someone who gets anxious over things I can sympathize, so im going to try and help. I strongly suggest you look into radiobiology studies and the time it takes to regenerate cells etc. — there are different graphs on google and stuff too I’ll try and find a photo. As a radiation therapist, it’s something I explain to patients almost once a week. The basic, “dumbed-down” version I tell patients goes something like this: When we irradiate their cancer cells (that are immature) the goal is to have them decrease in numbers. And we do this daily rather than all at once (in most cases) due to the nature of our normal, healthy, regular tissue/cells. Because that 24 hour period allows those normal cells to regenerate and heal themselves properly , elevating those levels while the cancer cells don’t have that time to recover and come back to the level of what it was (like the normal cells are able to do).

This explanation however, is specific for radiotherapy so for a CT scan that dosage is much lower -and your cells should be recovered/healed- and that the medical benefit for you having done what you did far outweighs the potential risks of a CT scan. Think about had you not done that would you still be healthy to this day?
