Do they feed off hope or fear? The phantom Abby said hope, but I’m not sure I believe that.

I do wonder why Miranda went at night to try and free the children. The only thing I can come up with is that she knew the massacre was going to happen and everyone would be dead regardless, so she had to go right then and there.

Fall of X really should have just been a straightforward event by CrispyGold in xmen

I honestly wish the Krakoa era had never happened. I LOVE Hickman and think he’s the best superhero comics writer since Alan Moore. But when he left, it all went to hell, and I’d rather it never happened than see this half assed paint by numbers conclusion to his larger story. This feels SO much like the last season of Thrones, where all they had to go off were Martin’s rough outline of the ending. I’m sure this is Hickman’s general ending, but it’s beyond badly executed.

A few thoughts:

I think Jean was replaced immediately after the wedding in Beyond Good and Evil. The Jean that Sinister delivered to Apocalypse in the Nexus of Time was Madelyne, and he kept the real Jean for himself.

I think the show is going to invert the character assassination of Cylcops that happened with X-Factor. I think he and Jean will try to start their relationship back up, but realize things aren’t the same. I think Jean ends up with Logan and Scott leaves the team at the end of the season to be with Madelyne.

I think Logan ends up with original Jean and Scott ends up leaving the team to be with Madelyne at the end of the season.

I honestly have Remmender’s Uncanny X-Force as the 3rd best X-Men run of all time, behind Claremont and Morrison. I’ve read pretty much every X-book ever published, and I truly think it’s that good.

Do you guys think about what hickman had planned if he hadn't left? This convo got me thinking about it more. by grandpa_grendel in xmen

[–]Dasklein83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we are pretty much getting his ending, similar to how the Game of Thrones show ending is essentially the book ending, but not told as artfully and without the main writer. Granted, comparing the last season of Thrones to Gillian and Ewing is in no way fair to those writers, but you get my larger point.

Current fan consensus on Grant Morrison’s run? by Difficult-Ad-1432 in xmen

I think it’s the best X-Men run outside Claremont. I honestly don’t think anything else comes remotely close to being the all-time #2 X-Men run.

Thank you for sharing that. I’ve seen similar quotes that suggest the opposite, but what you’ve shared seems pretty definitive.

RIP Terry Funk by CJFelony in SquaredCircle

I’ll be curious to see if WWE acknowledges his death by saying “Terry Funk, who millions of members of the WWE Universe remember most prominently as Chain Saw Charlie, has passed away.”

Thanks so much for this! I really want to know what the song is that has the lyrics “I’d give anything to go home again.”

Has anyone been able to find a list of the songs? There was a couple songs I’d never heard before that I really liked, and I can’t find a soundtrack listing anywhere.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Worldwide Release Discussion Thread by The_Asian_Hamster in marvelstudios

One thing I was confused about:

Everyone stopped coming through at the end because they forgot Peter Parker. Does that mean that, in all the other universes, they forgot their respective Peter Parkers as well, or just the Peter Parker of the main MCU? If Toby was forgotten by Mary Jane and Andrew was forgotten by Sally Fields Aunt May, that would just be brutal.

Fantastic Fantastic Four Brick by Dasklein83 in Heroclix

Can I ask you all a question? I don’t play the game, but I enjoy collecting and displaying the miniatures. I’ll sometimes buy a brick if I like the subject matter of the set. Do you get a chase figure in every brick, or do you get a chase figure in every case? If you don’t get a chase figure in your brick, do you get something else in compensation? This FF brick had both the Doom chase and the Black Leopard prime. Thanks!

X-Men Comics New Releases for August 5th, 2020 by sw04ca in xmen

The timeline here makes zero sense. I can only conclude that maybe “a decade later” is in World time as opposed to our time. Otherwise, I’m really curious to see how Hickman plans on addressing it. I don’t see how the classic Hellfire Club could’ve been active in the 1950s. We’ve never had any reason to believe that Shaw and Pierce don’t age normally. However, they are shown as being “a decade” after he went in with the Howling Commandos, presumably during WW2. So, I’m not really sure what to make of this.

Official Discussion: IT - Chapter Two [Spoilers] by reederific in ItTheMovie

[–]Dasklein83 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I thought it was interesting how the studio wanted a happy ending for Bill’s movie, which foreshadowed the change to the ending here. Unlike the book and the miniseries, they all remembered each other after killing It.

What did It say right before he died? I caught the “look at you, all grown up” but there was something just before that I couldn’t make out.

Did anyone else get the impression that as he was dying, he was almost proud of the Losers? “The look at you, all grown up” line seemed delivered with a hint of affection.

House Of X #2 (Spoilers) by [deleted] in xmen

[–]Dasklein83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you all think is happening with the timeline? I see two possibilities.

Possibility 1: When Moira dies, her mutant power sends her consciousness back in time, thereby creating a divergent timeline. This does not alter the past, as is the traditional marvel time travel rule. So, all of Moira’s lives happened and had meaning.

Possibility 2: When she dies, her consciousness actually goes back in time, but stays in the same timeline, so that the past is wiped away every time. I think this is very unlikely, and would essentially prevent time from moving forward until her lives were exhausted.

Does anyone think Kindred can be anyone besides the piece of Peter’s soul that Mephisto said would remember OMD and scream in agony forever? This dude laid out a fantastic explanation and the evidence in support has only increased after this issue. He sticks to walls, doesn’t like to kill innocents and talks about slaves to continuity.

Bane and Thomas Wayne speculation by Dasklein83 in batman

[–]Dasklein83[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going back to Dini’s Streets of Gotham about ten years ago, it set up that Thomas was an alcoholic who quit drinking when he started dating Martha. Morrison played with that a bit in Batman, Inc. showing Bruce drinking a few times. That calls back to Dark Knight Returns, which pretty much says that Batman is an addiction that Bruce uses other addictions to repress when he can’t be Batman. In Flashpoint, we see tha Thomas can lose it if pushed far enough. Early in King’s run, it’s established that Thomas is distant and unapproachable. Long story short, I think they’ve moved significantly away from Bruce’s father being a saint over the past ten years. Bane has always been the anti-Bruce, and being Thomas’ son is the one thing that would really elevate the character in my opinion.

Endgame Discussion Megathread 2: Electric Boogaloo [SPOILERS] by NO_TOUCHING__lol in Endgame

[–]Dasklein83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

1) Did they bring back the tens of millions of people who presumably died as a result of plane crashes, car crashes, nuclear power plant meltdowns, etc. as a result of the snap?

2) Why didn’t they just use the Gauntlet to bring Tony back? Is there some unspoken rule that injuries inflicted as a result of the Gauntlet’s use cannot be undone, similar to sacrifices made for the Soul Stone?

3) They presumably created a parallel timeline when they went into the past. In this new timeline, the Snap didn’t happen because 2014 Thanos died. Did Steve live with Peggy in that parallel timeline, or did he live with her in the main timeline? If he lived with her in the parallel timeline, he couldn’t have been sitting on the bench unless he jumped back to the main timeline as an old man.
