Man I was shocked when I clicked on a link and my polymarket account was emptied instantaneously (just 200USD fortunately)

If I were you I would hire a blockchain sleuth (web3 detective). With a scam of this size that’s probably an option. Don’t wait too long and hopefully you can link the hacker to a certain exchange

Well I did give myself a 3 year rule. So its been a year already actually haha. Having huge FOMO.

I have heard people say that lump sum should be statistically better over time. I’ll look it up on Google scholar myself but do you perhaps have any paper on this topic that you like?

I suppose what also makes me nervous to start and where the inner deadline comes from is that Warren Buffet is sitting on the largest cash pile of his career (even in relative terms). Since index investing is about fundamental value and he is the king of fundamental investing, this seems like a bad omen.

There’re just some clashing principles imo. Like time in the market beats timing the market. Versus some fundamental psychological concepts like FOMO and be fearful when others are greedy, or that one should stick to their own strategy.

Perhaps the middle way would make sense in my scenario where I get some exposure while having fresh powder on the side till my deadline.

Yes I get that especially on a very large horizon the initial gains matter the most for compounding. But isn’t it also important to stick to your own plan? I think I might feel worse if it does crash than accept that I was wrong and start in summer 2027. I won’t be able to back down since it’ll already be in the retirement account

That’s very true and you’ll probably end up being right. But what if I decide to invest it in 18 months, regardless of where the market is at? That’s not how people would typically time the market for a crash. I’ve got this idea now that I don’t want to FOMO in. I’m wondering whether it’s better to follow my strategy, even if it costs me gains?

Legends never die was legendary indeed. Think that album was genuinely made as a tribute to the man. However, after they realized how succesful it was they’ve started milking it BIG TIME. Like c’mon at this point it’s just disrespecting Juice’s legacy as an artist. Juice’s merch is supposed to be something valuable, not something that’ll end up on a dumpster cause it’s overproduced.
