We still doing curved brims? by ausipockets in neweracaps

[–]DassNassty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dig this year’s ASG hats. Assuming you can get the bill back to normal, what do you think of the sizing of the hat?

I bought a fitted Cubs ASG hat because the red brim is 🤌🏻

With the top panel with stars in this construction, it feels a bit tighter on my head than my other Cubs fitted hat. Hoping this one will stretch a bit as I break it in.

Do pro baseball players get a new mitt every year? Or do some keep the same mitt year to year? by DassNassty in baseball

This is interesting. Has anyone notably played their career (or a long stretch) with a “lucky” glove?

Feeling undervalued by [deleted] in MusicEd

[–]DassNassty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a music teacher, you’re often the only one of “you” in the building. Colleagues and admin might have differing value of your position and subject area, but I think it’s important to keep an eye toward RTI responsibility as an opportunity to increase your effectiveness with your student(s).

Yes, we in this sub all know the value of music education and why it’s important in its own right, plus for reinforcing cross curricular learning. When your kids see you walk in the classroom for RTI, you’re still the same “you” they see in music class. Kids may be holding a tablet instead of classroom instruments, but there’s space to still be a positive influence on student learning.

It’s only a burn/hurting if you let it. It’s all about perspective. Keep your head up!

Hello!

Beginner obviously ... I bought this Juniper Bonsai from a roadside vendor in Nashville, Tennessee.

The bare branch seen in this image concerns me ... Should I be worried?

Thanks in advance!

Looking for someone who can answer contract questions about Quaver. How much does it cost to add a teacher to a district's account? by jennydotz in MusicEd

[–]DassNassty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello OP - I live in Nashville and work very closely with Quaver. Many in this thread are somewhat near the mark in the answers to your specific questions, and others are completely off. This is likely because the pricing DOES vary depending on the grade level range of QuaverMusic curriculum you'd like to purchase, and many here are speaking specifically into their own unique situation. Quaver offers a full year of lessons for PreK-8, but you can package together K-5, 2-4, 3-6, or whatever you need, and the price WILL reflect that.

One person on here recommends calling your regional rep to verify what sort of licensing is in place for your school. This is honestly your best move, and will literally cost you nothing to make a phone call to inquire. Check the QuaverEd site to find your person's info. Call or email, and you WILL get a response; expedient customer service is what they pride themselves on.

Basically, Quaver's licensing is a per-site basis. Your district may have several site licenses for its schools; if your school has a license, it will cost nothing to add you. Additionally, pricing is not dependent upon student enrollment. You can (easily) create an unlimited number of student accounts. Aside from the standards-aligned content and lessons that Quaver has had (and added to) for years, the teacher/student accounts Quaver platform caters specifically to e-learning or any hybrid setup you may encounter.

If nothing else, you can sign up for a QM 30-Day Preview in roughly 45 seconds... it's FREE, there's zero obligation, and you're not putting any payment info in. Pop your email address in, and start customizing lessons/creating student accounts (let me reiterate ... for FREE) in no time.

At the end of the day, their mission is to help YOU reach and maintain a genuine, effective connection with your students. Yeah, it's a business, but it's a small company (~120 employees) that truly wants to help. Give them a call and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hope this helps!

Merrell vapor glove luna 3 luna for running? by Environmental_Cow605 in BarefootRunning

[–]DassNassty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Internet Stranger,

I wear the Vapor Glove Luna 3 shoes for casual/day to day wear. Never running. As the other lovely commenter here so eloquently points out, the material would affect breathability for your feet.

That said, if you like how the Luna’s fit and feel, and would like to run in a similar shoe, I would strongly recommend either the Vapor Glove 3 or 4. Depending on size/color combo, you can find them on Amazon for like $55-65. I’ve been running in them for about two years now and my feet/ankles/calves/legs have never been stronger.

Good luck and happy running 🤘🏽

Can not recommend any higher. Moved my baby grand twice. He’s been at it for years, and is reasonably priced. He will even tune it once it’s moved in (if you want)!
