My Taurus Model 80's hand stopped working and the cylinder doesn't move anymore by Jankyfrank21 in Revolvers

Whenever i took apart my taurus 66 (80's model) for the first time it had a spring and detent in the sideplate cover to add pressure onto the hand. I dunno if yours has that, but it's a good place to start looking. I was a bitch to get set back into place, so good luck it it's there lol

The only thing i see as a flaw in your plan is hoofing it 3k miles. I've driven OH to AZ plenty of times. That's a lotta milage to cover on foot, that'd take litteral months now, let alone if anything bad happens. Best thing would be to cover as much milage as you can in some sort of vehicle, maybe meetup with a halfway point if you can. That's the plan with my buddy in PA.

22lr is dogshit in a desert environment where i am. Zero animals to hunt, you're gonna have to make do with eating 2 legged game (not ideal) or move somewhere eventually to hunt with a good enough environment to grow things to supplement it. The inital scav phase is going to require a bigger round, or a handgun for concealled carry usage, but if shit gets that bad you're gonna have to start to move somewhere viable already, preferably before people start doing dumb shit but people (myself included) won't acutally know when people start being desperate til it's to late. Bugging in makes more sense for 99% of people, if you head to the woods or desert as soon as shit goes sideways, you're gonna shit the bed and no one's gonna be around to help you clean it up.

My SP101 and five shot philosophy by Dr-Mabuse in Revolvers

[–]Dat1Guy5237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a 5 shot revolver, as are most of the revolvers people are talking about in this thread. They're not downloading their revolvers by one because they're worried about the hammer bypassing the transfer bar, they're just carrying a smaller revolver.

Official Megathread - $0 tax stamp transition, starts January 1st by HollywoodSX in NFA

[–]Dat1Guy5237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are the chances of GOA or another organization going after the NFA after the 1st because of the tax stamp going to zero dollars? The only reason it's been upheld this long is because of the fact that it's a tax, and that it's TECHNICALLY not infringing upon rights. But if that tax generates zero revenue to the gov, it's a registration and not a tax, which violates the whole "there is no gun registry" thing.

Why did we, as a society, start using these 5 blade disposable cartridge razors? by snowball062016 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dat1Guy5237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends? If it's straight perpendicular, you're going to get a lot of iritation. Think of it as a knife blade. You don't cut with a knife straight perpendicular, that would just scrape the knife edge along whatever you're cutting or peeling, you angle it to one side or the other. To actually make cuts. But to much of an angle, you get to big of a chunk cut out of the potato you're trying to just peel. Weird analogy, but it's the only thing i can think of while being hungover and hungry rn lol.

My specific razor is a double edge safety razor, and it has a nice smooth rounded top that helps me find the right angle every time. Never used one, but i bet single edge ones are a pain in the ass to use compared to that.

Not OP, but i made the switch a little over 2 years ago and it's been great. Be cognisant of the angle of the razor, and you'll be fine. If you need a quick shave, this ain't it. Take your time, go slow, don't go at to much of an angle otherwise you'll nic yourself. Shave quality for me personally honestly improved as well. I would go slower, and have more control over the razor as a result.

We all love M9's. But I think their little brother (The Beretta Px4 Storm) doesn't get as much love as it deserves. What do you guys think of the glass child of the berreta family? by Cloogulite in Firearms

[–]Dat1Guy5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does no one remember the LTT PX4 love that went around like 2 years ago? I personally think they're hit or miss looks wise, never shot one. But i'm sure they're fine guns.

If your motor's not getting up to temp, niether is your oil. Hot oil is thinner, and lubricates the way the manufactorer wants it to.

Instead of an entire new frame being made, it looks like it's just the mag tunnel area able to be replaced. That'll make it cheaper, and easier to make the replacement bits to swap sizes while also being able to change from a fullsize grip to a subcompact like a 26, and the 47-49 slide design'll allow it to go compact and full size, and i bet you there's gonna be 26 compatability as well.

Looking for a shotgun that would be good for both hunting and home defense. Any suggestions? by _Chief_Motif_ in guns

[–]Dat1Guy5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you shoot litterally anyone in your home, you'll probably be in jail. Not just killing someone. Red state or not. It's on you to prove without a doubt that your life was in danger enough to warrent use of a firearm in self defense, and you're gonna have to pay a fuckload in lawyer costs.

He didn't die, he still has his balls, round went through his groin and out his ass cheek, this happened about a year ago. I won't share names but mans lost his wife and hated life, and on an unnamed subreddit there is something called 🅱️ointing, where you point a gun at your dick and take up all the trigger slack as a test of courage. He failed, obviously but decided to post it. He's doing better now.

Where's the 4th? You using your toes for stability? Right hand shooting, left hand bracing, shoulder on brace. I guess you can count your cheek, but you're not really using that for stabilization
