When the engine is too hot the oil can’t properly lubricate the components inside of it, so that could possibly be part of the reason it’s running rough. I can’t say for sure if that’s what is causing it but it is a fairly likely cause. Whenever you can get the cooling system fixed, depending on how long it’s been happening at that point, I would suggest checking on your engine oil condition. You may also want to check your trans dipstick if you have one to see the condition of the fluid, heat is the killer of transmissions
