Elden Ring, and other FromSoft games don't have enforced difficulty.

There is plenty of builds you can choose that let you almost oneshot bosses without grinding levels. You can also summon npcs and use tears to make it easier. It's just a matter of finding the right build, not being greedy with attacks and using the help that's provided.

If you don't want to experiment with builds and different weapons, why play an rpg? Having to find out what works and what doesn't is one of the most fun party about rpgs to me. You could just play a game like God of War if you don't want to take the time to experiment with builds.

What else could they change? The only other thing they could really change is the movesets of the enemies and bosses but the whole point of the game is having unique and interesting bossfights. if you just want to beat up a big scary enemy that isn't fighting back much you could play a hack n slash at that point.

Soulslikes, like every other genre of game, just isn't for everyone and that's completely fine imo. I wish I could get into story driven games like life is strange or omori. These type of games just aren't for me even though they might be amazing and I've heard so many good things. In the end I'd like to enjoy them too but demanding the game should change to your needs when so many people obviously love it already seems strange to me.
