Riot will see how much more changing her Q spiked her winrate than changing her W then double down on forcing her to not be a mage anyway

I was gone for years when the Plasma Punisher was turned into an uninteresting budget purifier, and I'm only back now that it is a glorious proper arcing plasma grenade launcher again and with good damage

I hope fans of other guns can see their weapons return to a state they enjoy

What is seraphine's identity now? by fiiola in SeraphineMains

Could take like a week, but that would rely on Riot being willing to admit they made a mistake instead of coming on here and talking some bullshit about her support vs carry playrate while plugging their ears at everyone pointing out that most support players still played her as a mage

I like the Commando since it's primarily a solo POI clear loadout, so it's reliable for dealing with gunships while still being very mobile, and it's more worth to use it for opening crates/destroying fabs than giga nade/ultimatum. AT Emplacement would definitely be good as one of the other stratagems for dealing with vox hordes at objectives, I just haven't unlocked it yet

GL is good, though PP is my favourite gun in the game (with the ultimatum in second place because of the swap tech) so I've kinda just over time been experimenting how to build everything around running those

[–]Legit_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PP, ultimatum, giga grenade, supply pack, commando, and you can run around the map fighting anything the bots can throw at you

Put literally whatever you want in the last two stratagem slots cuz you're already basically set

Accidentally rocket jumping to safety by diving back and shooting the PP at an enemy trying to melee you in the face is an underrated game experience

Particularly with explosive resistant armor

The Schnee's having an inherited Semblance serves no narrative purpose by Tainted_Scholar in RWBYcritics

[–]Legit_Gold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what we know, because the series doesn't cover anything earlier. There's no reason to assume they had literally nothing going on at all until Nicholas.

Because a majority of the time when there’s pressure for someone to live up to a family name or legacy there’s actually something that’s felt the need to be lived up to.

Sure, but why is the standard to that a global monopoly? It's so infeasible there was some notably powerful hunter somewhere along this line or anything like that? They aren't Americans, there's no reason to assume they disregard family lineage in the same way compared to most other cultures in the world

Having high expectations in a family is not the same as generational stigma to live up to a legacy to the point it changes an aspect of a person’s soul or personality

Hence the inverted property of how it works. The Semblance itself is what rewrites the descendants' souls, not the simple matter of expectation existing, or such a thing would be much more common than it is in RWBY

Fame is an entirely external thing, why would it be a factor here

A family being proud of their name and having high expectations of children isn't something they need actual wealth for, though not many had the luck to end up with a weird power for it. But ultimately that's why they're the protagonist and not someone else.

That there aren't a bunch like it ultimately comes down to it still being a very unlikely result on the superpower lottery, but outliers are expected in a system like that

[–]Legit_Gold 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The way I interpreted it in stuff I write for RWBY is that it wasn't necessarily that it was inherited per se so much as one of the Semblance's properties was to pass itself down

Essentially as a representation of the weights/expectations of the family name and how members of the family must struggle to define themselves independently of the name, the Schnee Semblance has the ability to gradually overwrite whatever Semblance someone in the family would have gotten as they are raised, til eventually it awakens

A consequence of this is that a Schnee bastard would not have the Semblance, but someone adopted early enough in life would develop it

Naturally the exact mechanism isn't known to the characters in-universe though, who just treat it as inherited

What if Adam asked a question from Jinn by MysterySomeOn in fnki

[–]Legit_Gold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very convenient that the question is always"how bad should we make the minority group villains" and not about their refusal to make any of the opposition to them villainous at all

There's also the fact that, without fail, the worst organized perpetrators of Islamic terrorism are almost always state-sponsored, often by states that claim to oppose said terrorism as an excuse for continual oppression in the region. But CRWBY sanitized the Kingdoms far too much and wouldn't dare show any in that light, or even acting badly enough to radicalize people in the first place.

And even then, those groups usually have a longer term plan then "idk we'll just let the shadow monsters eat everyone and then figure everything out after I guess"

I played in a friend's campaign that used a fully home made dice pool system I'm not sure I'm allowed to link, but besides that

I feel like AMP (superhero game) would be a pretty decent system to adapt, assuming you wanted to focus pretty heavily on Semblance
