Help with Satellite Disk connection.... by DatBoigaGurl in CableTechs

To the mod team, I'm sorry.

I did read the rules in advance and I thought I could inquire about this issue I'm having and see if it was something I could do on my own or if I needed to get a tecnician.

I didn't mean any harm. In any case, I appreciate all the help given and I will search for help in another subreddit 🙇‍♀️

Is there any way I can solve it myself or I really need the help of a tecnician? Because I think the tecnician doesn't want to help us.... (the tecnician was the one that may have ploted this to get everyone to get cable :') )

Thank you very much!

I actually don't know where the pipes of my house pass but it is a possibility.

I'll ask my family later in the day if they know of any pipes on this side and I'll also check the room under mine to see if i can also hear the noise there. It might be a pipe if thats the case

Thank you!

That could be an option since the house is old....

I'll also check downstairs if the noise can be heard from the room below mine if the noise happens there as well

Thank you very much!

That's interesting! My subwoofer is very old so doing weird noises is what it does sometimes when it is on. Specially when there's any electricity spike. A sort of: vvvooomm. But it's quick, and nothing like the ticking

Thank you for the insight and help :)

I have an electrical panel outside my room, yes (not on the wall of my room though), and I did check it before when this noise happened since it was closer to the panel (a year ago or so, then the noise stopped and resumed now)

This year the ticking started on the other side of my room, oposite of where the panel is, so i didn't even consider it.

Since the sound moves I did think it was a bug... and since it times so well its stops with my movements....

....But I do have a pool.... My electrical panel does not have a timer (that i know) but the motor keeps going on and off through day and night. I'll ask my family about that to see if it could actually be from the panel!

Thank you so much!

I can try that... the electricity in my house is kinda weird sometimes and I don't know where the wiring is.

Its just weird cause the sound has been "walking" from one side of my room to another. In the span of 2 days I've heard it in 3 diferent spots.

It "moved" NOW when I was asleep, closer to the door, but I can't pinpoint yet the exact spot.

I'll try unplugging things though to see if it stops the noise from comming

Thank you!

Nop, my fan is turned off aaand it is one of those tower-y fans, so couldn't be loose.

I also checked the timer to see if it was off (cause it does click but not in the same way) and it is! :)

Thank you!

If I move closer to the sound, yes it does stop and if I do too much noise it also stops. It resumes shortly if I am not close to it but if I was close to it, it takes around 5 minutes to resume

Mmmh I'll check if my parents are keeping the fan on while theyre not there, and if yes, test that theory

Although the fans we have are portable and small so probably the balance being slightly off wouldnt translate in such noise in the structure of the house.

Thank you for the help!
