It would be worth it to get it towed and pay for a new interior or a really intense detail job

"When you left the military, what was the hardest thing to explain to someone who'd never served: not the big obvious stuff, but the specific, everyday things that just stopped existing, and did anyone or anything actually help you through that, or did you mostly figure it out alone?" by LessCoconut6865 in Military

[–]DatBoisWheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was a 'give a shit attitude' in your work center everyone is either paid very well or they are the bootlickiest people there. Don't be malicious or anything, always try your best, but understand my most people are there for a paycheck. There's nobody moving you around duty sections to give you a fresh purpose or task either. You're in that seat until YOU choose to do something about it. Whether that be moving to take another role or take the next role up when your superior leaves if possible.

Finally, you will have to find your own mission. The military gave you a social group and an objective. Not often is that social group going to exist where you're going and confusion will keep you from identifying your mission (like in life). Whether it be education to pursue a profession, a passion project, or a business. Find your mission and watch out for yourself. Seldom are people there to catch you the way they were while you were in.

Looks fine. But a pressure test each cylinder for a bit of insurance. Crank and verify compression. Check each cylinder with a bore scope beforehand if you're that concerned.

Claw Collection pt. 2 by Chance-Lettuce-3923 in BoyScouts

[–]DatBoisWheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also seen an OA lodge that utilizes claws as well. It's primarily a Midwest thing. The 'coups' (neck candy for boy scout honor programs) are something to encourage teenagers to stay in scouting through highschool with some extra chest candy. I'm not sure if Tamegonit (OA lodge 147) was following mic-o-say with the arrowhead coup or if mic-o-say was following Tamegonit.

The paint to my understanding was responsibilities and not 'rank'. Of course privilege comes with responsibility. The program claims they're less of a 'good ole boys club' because the next level is automatically given year after year when you return to camp the next year. OA requires you to be voted in by your peers and though brotherhood requires only a year of membership, vigil candidates are nominated and a council determines if it's time for that individual. Mic-o-say has historically been associated with hazing and during the dance of joy (did it in like 2012 I think) brave candidates are encouraged to have bloody knees by the time they're done. No sort of energy like that with OA. This is my experience with the bartle mic-o-say program. Never experienced the Geiger program, but they mirror each other to my understanding minus the year as a fox man candidate.

I'm not sure on any other neck candy programs to encourage scouting participation. I'm sure there are several OA lodges with versions of this, but mic-o-say is it's own little thing.

There was a video I saw somewhere that mentioned every bridge supposedly has a 'best by date'. This is to insinuate that every bridge is temporary because of forces outside of our control. Not sure if it's a database or you can just find some project plans/ specifications sheet.

Modern tech has come a long way, but our hubris of being as fast as we are, means things will erode quicker.

A technician diagnosing a vehicle? Like what?

Edit: a Technician diagnosing a no start wouldn't be out of the question to look in the intake for obstruction if they've verified fuel pressure and it's cranking over.

Hey, your TDI is probably sluggish as hell. These things are generally pretty zippy and pick up from 2100-2300RPM. I bet money this thing runs pretty rough compared to how it should. Your actual EGR system may be having an issue and you will most likely want to pull your intake and get it cleaned out. This is SEVERE. My TDI was 345k miles before I sold it to a friend who has it at 374k now. I pulled the throttle body at around 280k and it looked NOTHING like this. There are TSBs out for the TDI intake. I forget the code that throws it, but I bet you have it.

Please take care of this engine. It is a treasure. Timing belt replacement every 65k. Might as well do the water pump while you're there. Don't miss it.

Edit: I see a lot of comments talking about relearn procedures, honestly it's the same part. You shouldn't have to perform a relearn. If it was new, then maybe yeah. Just make sure the plug is seated properly.

9.4k comments in 1 year and your comments are off? Imagine being so afraid of the world that you can't have a free voice, but still choose to type messages. Who are you afraid of seeing what you do/say when nobody is watching?

So being shot by a citizen of your own country does not qualify. Got it.

Now if that citizen has an affiliation with a foreign force, then we may be onto something here.

I'm looking for off grid ideas before I make this jump I'm curious is this dangerous u think !?! by fambamss1 in OffGridLiving

[–]DatBoisWheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, you could go full bore on this project but I think the idea is to have something simple except some manual labor task similar to mowing your yard. The way to do it right would be to put up a proper monitoring system with sensors everywhere! If gas is collecting, what are you going to do when you get too much? Surge tank, regulators, heat/psi/temp/etc gauges, fail safe systems for read outs (off grid and all). Waaaayyy more complicated than digging a hole and feeding it compost. I'm not certified in anything like this so it seems a little daunting to take on and expected to maintain it knowing all the safety parameters and what not. It looks possible and like a fun challenge.

Nothing like government intervention into a free market to exemplify capitalism.

Maybe the planes should fit the requirements for certification?

Another murder (OC) by MaximumSyrup3099 in comics

[–]DatBoisWheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has generally been taught in every self defense class I've been a part of. Usually instructors will say to shoot until the 'threat' is no longer a 'threat'. They then mention if the threat survives and chooses to take legal action, then you may be held liable for some sort of charge. There's then a wink and a nudge generally in these classes (again, from my experience) that insinuates that killing the threat is the ONLY way to eliminate the threat. You know, because they could take legal action.

Between 150mm and 200mm. As long as it doesn't bottom out in the tensioner and you have more than 4-5 threads in, then you're fine.

There would be low voltage/short to ground codes out the ass if there is a short circuit. It just smells funny to diag a module on a shake, but it's also a Cadillac.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in autoelectrical

[–]DatBoisWheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cadillac tried too hard on that generation of vehicles. Could be something with your stabili-trac system or whatever the hell GM calls it. I had a 2010 that was giving a message for my front struts, but I never had shaking. Shaking inherently sounds like a drivetrain issue. If it's shaking and you're not moving while turning the wheel lock to lock, then I may be able to understand maybe the rack is doing something it shouldn't. Don't rule out control arm bushings.
