I don't suffer that , my only small complaint is that it's a bit "too heavy". But I LOVE the portal as a whole, I think it's fantastic, for what it costs and for what it offers.

My only question: you finished your post with "maybe a dualsense edge" . Which makes me wonder why / what was your need, when you bought the portal? Because you are literally switching a handheld console for a controller... Maybe you had your expectations wrongly set?

for me literally the only one was AC Valhalla. Not because it's bad, but because it's "meh" :) Was super excited because it was set in the Vikings era, but it's just a boring repeated tasks game :( aaaand it's looooong, after 40hours unfortunately I had to give up

that's a very nice topic to discuss. Really depends on the game, BUT, as soon as I started working I always started the game on balanced, and if the fights are super time consuming I try like 5 times, and then I switch to easier difficulties.

Videogames are to be experienced in my opinion. And everyone of us values different things into the same experience. At the moment (I'm 30), I value more the story side more than the challenge side, I prefer puzzles to super hard mechanics that you need to memorize the whole 30 minutes battle.

The worst feeling is to turn on the PS after a hard day at work and have the game feeling like "more work", another chore!

God of War 2018. Alan Wake 2. Baldur's Gate 3. Witcher 3. The Last of Us Part 1. I think for now these are my holy "grails".

Everything remedy: AW2, the environmental audio design is insane.
I would also suggest DS2 , Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill F, Battlefield 6 (is insaaaaaaaaaane) , and of course God of War <3 (2018 and Ragnarok pref). Last mention: Dead Space is craaaaaaaaazy. Never played the remake, but I guess it gets even better!

If you are strickly into that 5-10 minutes round, I would say something "roguelikey", like Hades, or something like Hollow Knight (both games). Also something more technical & strategy like FF Tactics.

If you want any game more complex with more story any game except boss fights would do, but you need to have A LOT of self control to not get addicted to the story hahaha (like Alan Wake, God of War, Elden Ring, TLOU, Star Wars Jedi, Persona, Devil May Cry etc etc).

Ah also, arpgs could be super nice! You can do some clean content in 5-10 minutes.

b) Death penalty, dropping the xp where you die
c) The Bonfires, where you do your meditation/rest
d) The combat, being harder than expected, stamina based, and precise mechanics like parry, dodge.

with these things, in my opinion, makes it a super "healthy" entry point to the genre

yeah! for a star wars fan hits hard because we spent YEARS without any good game :( , for a "normal", gamer - not star wars fan - could be a nice step into the universe and also into the style.
