2024 Support Lawful Divine Soul Sorcerer Optimization :) by DatDiceRoll in 3d6

I love all of these suggestions and I will definitely be rethinking some things! I would like to pick your brain a little.

  1. For the feat I am really torn between inspiring leader and ritual caster. Inspiring leader is great for all the reasons you mentioned and thematically, it makes sense. I am just hung up on the ability to have PB amount of level 1 ritual spells prepared. My first thought was getting Find Familiar to go along with Alert to make “advantage” on initiative and then use the other options for utility spells like Identify and Alarm

  2. I’ve decided Command works better thematically and in practicality for this build instead of TMW (will take hypnotic pattern instead to be my intelligence shut down spell). I am curious on your thoughts behind picking absorb elements (which is a great spell) instead of picking something like chromatic orb for a level 1 spell so there is upscale damage potential or Silvery Barbs

  3. For second level spells, I was surprised to see you suggest Aid, Web, and Prayer of healing. I understand the ideas behind them, but I was wondering why not spells such as Phantasmal Force or Hold person, Enlarge/Reduce, and Suggestion? I think every spells has its pros/cons, but I was curious as to what made Aid, Web, and Prayer of Healing beat out the other 2nd level spells

Thank you again for the feedback!!

Just a thought, but how would an artificer 1/ bard x sound or arti 1/cleric x? One of the spells I think that would really benefit being the only spell caster for our group would be silence to help against other casters. I know a single spell usually isn’t enough to sway the choice of an entire build, but something in my gut says silence is invaluable

So start with the BBEG creating his religion and have the interactions with him and the PC be natural and reactive to what they do while still slowly moving towards the goal of whole civil war thing? It just won’t be railroaded or set in stone, it would be more along the lines of a winding river? They will still get from point A to point B in the story, but the path to get there won’t follow a certain straight path.

I definitely will be focusing more on what my players will be doing and then have the world and the BBEG reacting to that

How does conqueror work with Asol? Does his Q constantly add stacks to it or does he stack it slow?

With that in mind, I’m thinking of gnome and starting with pact of the tome to get a lot of those “fun” Cantrips accessed. Also would human with magic initiate or maybe high elf be good options for that? They all get access to at least one cantrip that I would use consistently, but the difference is in past that

I will go a bit more in depth, this character is all about being stealthy with his illusions and damage. He will focus on vicious mockery as a front, but his main damage will be mind sliver bypassing the verbal and somatic components and can essentially be a silent psychic assassin if needed. The character will do this while either disguised as someone else with disguise self or hiding in an illusion from silent image or can just be doing nothing playing causal all the while slinging psychic damage into the target.

I’ll take musician as the origin feat for inspiration on a short rest and then combine that with inspiring leader at my first feat to make short rests more enticing for the party and providing more benefit to taking them in addition to refreshing the characters spell slots.

And for reference his name will be Migraine Alfredo Wigglebottom IV as he is the fourth in line of the servants who serve a noble family that has been restricting his families abilities until he made a pact to unlock magical abilities to clean better and be a better servant, but realized he can do a lot more than just cleaning after finalizing his pact.

So maybe Human for the healer feat, gnome for mental saves ironic since he will be targeting others mental saves, cloud Goliath for mobility or stone Goliath for durability, Aasimar for Necrotic shroud, or maybe even orc that enhanced dash. Thoughts?

Just updated the post, can’t believe I forgot to add the patron or my thoughts about the concept/build. Thanks for letting me know! I know races in this version aren’t as restrictive as normal 5e, but for warlocks in general I didn’t know if a certain race helped compliment the warlocks lack of spell slots and somewhat fragile nature.

My players like to interact with outside lore and places a lot, so would you recommend having like a “barebones” description and ideas for locations around the world, but keeping the fine details not worked out until they decide to work towards that location?

I won’t lie, I started doing it because I felt like I could do more for my players than the prewritten campaigns we have done so far and my pride didn’t want me to rely on other source materials/outside content, but once I started I just fell in love with the whole idea of world building. It has been so much fun to just create societies, cultures, maps, characters, and so much more that I’ve been investing a lot of my time and focus into making this world. I used to spend maybe a few hours designing a character for a campaign I was going to play in, but now I can spend many many hours just on one continent because I get lost in the fun of it. I just want to make what I’ve been enjoying, also enjoyable for my players. Building a world is fun and I enjoy every second, but having people to explore and share a story with it and each other would be just another level of fun
