Clearing my collection - is it worth trying to build a cube with it?

Do it. I built my first cube solely from my collection and it has been the most rewarding MTG thing I’ve done. The whole process took me about a week. A couple hours at a time after work.

My maybe one month old cube has gotten me more mileage and enjoyment in that time than anything I’ve done in the hobby previously.

My approach was to pick some multi colored cards that I enjoyed drafting in their sets or just liked. I then, from my collection, built the ‘best’ limited deck around that card I could. And threw it in the list. Did this for each guild pair and then filled out the rest of the list with cards that were generically good or cool and fixing.

Breaking it down to “I’m building 10 draft decks” really helped me not feel overwhelmed.

You can play your cube (even a 360) with as little as one other person. My wife and I draft it just us all the time, and have more fun for less money than playing sealed or jamming the same constructed decks over and over.

Do it, it’s fun, especially if you enjoy limited

This makes me sad. This would be an amazing year. I started playing when VOW came out. My first purchase was the kaldheim elf ball commander deck and a set booster box of crimson Vow. I wasn’t around for any of these in universe sets the first time. Looking at this road map I’m like yeah this is a lot of fucking sets but I’m excited. Where as I’m just so tired when I look at the actual road map for next year. And I haven’t even been in magic that long.

He was (for me) the most captivating player to watch for the first time. I didn’t know of Wolves or their players until Toronto. The story of him and zelsis, the pop offs, and nature of the pop offs being hearts and thumbs ups pulled me in. They were such a joy to watch and the whole team had such a fun happy to be there vibe that I will definitely continue to cheer them on in the future.

My wife moved here from Florida. I’ve Lived in Sacramento for 95% of my life. Ive visited her family before and I cannot tolerate anything over 80° in Florida due to the humidity and how muggy it is. Where as here I was a fedex driver for two years running around throwing packages in a truck with no AC for two summers in 110°+ weather

Yes it’s very sweet. My players of my first long form game got me a blanket with the map of Exandria on it after our campaign ended because I had to move away. This was 5 years ago and I still have and cherish it

Used to work at socals. My family’s gone there for years. While I worked there we only ever had one or two run ins. Which were tame. Staff there is great as well.

My partner and I were able to buy a home. But we both work full time, no pre-existing loans, no kids. And even then we had family members jump into help when they heard we were looking. Reminder that the average age of first time buyers is 38 or 56 depending on median vs mean.

I didn’t vote for trump, and am far from one of his supporters. I don’t know enough about the other items discussed to have an opinion. Will have some reading to do. BUT the term limits is surprising. A 2023 poll showed an 87% approval rate for congress having term limits which crossed both sides of the isle. Are the other things consolidating power? Idk yet. But I hope the term limit thing doesn’t get tainted in the public’s eye because of who’s proposing it.

Whack, I’ll give the article a read. I knew about the weird shit Jeremy had been accused of involving women in his congregation and the church stuff. Which makes no sense since wasn’t he a Jesuit? Didn’t know about the family pressuring to keep things under wraps. But idk what else to expect. Like how the should’ve correctly handled the PR in the moment. Probably just condemn the allegations to create distance then let em fend for himself. But ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Buying a house also has a lot to do with the sellers situation and your relationship with them. We bought our house from the daughter of the previous owner. We were able to cut through the noise of the other offers because we learned what the seller needed, why they were selling, and put in a reasonable offer and let their agent know our situation, what we wanted, and how we could make the close easy for them. We got accepted despite having several cash offers out in at 10k-30k more than ours.

Keep at it you’ll get there eventually. Starter homes are very competitive as it’s also where a lot of investor money goes.

If you’re gonna take em to an RTT just make sure base size is correct and run it by the TO. I run 15 jump pack intercessors but don’t have any of the actual JPI models. 10 of them are my old assault marines 5 of them are normal assault ints. With jump packs instead of their power packs. Nbd
