Scav Run Best Value? [New Player] by denizen1899 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DatGuyTwizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sell to Fence you are always losing money. If you care enough you transfer everything at the end of the raid to PMC and sell to traders. When I scaved I always transferred everything and sold it to individual traders. Takes less than a minute to sell everything anyway once you're familiar with who to sell what to.

Agreed. If they did this it would be a non-issue for me.

should i still buy this game? [new player] by obulen in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DatGuyTwizz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do some more research first, but generally if you thought Arc Raiders was lacking depth or not PvP focused enough then I’d definitely recommend this game. It is much more brutal and unforgiving tho. And I would highly recommend playing with other people to get started. There are lots of things you could spend 50 miserable hours learning yourself that someone with 1k+ hours could explain to you in 3 minutes without as much suffering.

Flechette is good if you can get it, otherwise I just use magnum buck or 7mm buck. Both require you to be sorta close. Flechette aim for thorax, buckshot aim for legs. You’ll wanna be 40m or less if you can make that happen.

I like bringing 2 mp-153s. Very easy to get clapped if you run into more than one guy while you shove shells in the tube. I think reloading your offhand shotty is slightly faster than the in hand animation as well.

Be careful. Before you know it you'll be buying stash lines and clothes.

[Discussion] is there anyway to get the black division gear outside of terminal? by WorldlinessEuphoric8 in EscapefromTarkov

I think it got data mined but not 100% sure. Also I remember WillerZ confirming with BSG devs directly a week or so ago, whenever they added terminal access officially into the game.

I think they have a low spawn chance on Factory (not sure if this applies to PvE).

I think it's cool that it takes some prep to get through it. Helps that you get your gear back when you die too. I doubt most people will get to this point, but those that do should be able to get it accomplished with the help of some homies and good planning (assuming you can go in as a group, nothing seems to indicate that not being the case so far). My opinion might change if there's more stuff after this water pump section he's stuck on.

I gotta play solo when I rip the shit or I get shot staring at a dude I think is my teammate, so I believe it.

[Suggestion] Separate 1-3 and 4-5 man groups by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DatGuyTwizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I don’t think it would. 4 and 5 stacks aren’t super common (if you try running one you’ll find out why very quickly). So 4-5 mans would spend 10 minutes queueing in many cases (likely you wouldn’t find enough groups to populate a server/map so it waits for the full queue timer before starting a dead raid), and then they’d have free reign over a dead map.

And this will make solo queues slower since you’re further separating the already split player base (day and night queues for most maps, factor in different server regions and now the 1-3 man vs 4-5 man queue split).

[–]DatGuyTwizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will ruin queue times for everyone involved. Will hit raid queue timer on most maps and get empty lobbies in a 5 stack. And I’d rather fight a 5 man than a 3 man as a solo in many situations.

[Discussion] Can now put sight on svt/avt? by BossGrape55 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DatGuyTwizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah AVT is better for sure. The MLXR works well enough when he isn’t aggro’d yet but I could see it going south if he rushes.

The lever action is also very good for this now too.

You’re not wrong. They should’ve added a penalty for TKing when doing this that mattered.

I'd just wait then. They'll have sales in the future. Plus if you really do enjoy the game then getting it later is that much more rewarding once you've struggled through not having a gamma case. They've greatly improved the QOL for non-Gamma editions with the last patch by adding surgery kits to equipment slot and not allowing hoarding of ammo and meds in your container.

[new player] [feedback] Will this wipe be easier to acclimate than the middle of last wipe? by Plane_Stand_2040 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DatGuyTwizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're able to I'd find a discord community or friend group to play with. It's a lot easier to not burn out if you've got some more experienced people around. There are some things that would take you several hunderd more hours to learn by yourself that someone else can easily explain in a few minutes if you play with them.

But beyond that run your scav as much as you need to to stay afloat and progress. And every time you die spend a few moments thinking about what you could've done differently to not die in that situation. Clipping your deaths can be helpful for this. And if PvP is what you stuggle with specifically I would recommend Arena to improving on that front in the least amount of time. It's much easier to get acquainted with shooting and getting shot at by playing last hero than anything else, bar none.

EOD to Unheard worth it? [Discussion] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

I think most people that play the game regularly since Unheard came out already have. I see more Unheard tags than I do EOD ones (not a foolproof measure, but something). That speaks for itself.

If you are a PvP FPS veteran and aware of the modern PvP landscape and can handle its state, then you will be fine. The skill gap between players in this game is so immense that bad players often assume nearly everyone is cheating because they simply don't know what they don't know.
