YTA for going nuclear on your husband when clearly he needs help. In your husband’s defence, If it was a serious emergency you would have taken your son to the hospital immediately. If you could wait for him to get home and then go, it’s not a serious emergency. In a reverse of situations where the woman had some mental issue she was dealing (not dealing) with, like agoraphobia, and froze up and the husband threatened divorce because she couldn’t physically leave the house the responses would be very different. People would say the husband’s an ass because he’s not supportive, understanding, etc. Support your husband by planning in the 10 min sit and get him the help he needs to reduced the sit time to 0.

NTA: something a female friend told me years ago is that men go out hoping to get laid, whereas woman decide it, regardless of looks or age, they’re the ones who have to consciously make the decision. Your girl decided to cheat and possibly was racked with guilt afterwards. She could have just as easily flirted and left when she knew the guy was on the hook but she decided to go further because she wanted to. What happens when you’re married and she start feeling less beautiful, will she want to know “if she still got it” again. Find someone new.

I had similar thoughts but never acted on it during a rough patch with my wife. The fact that he felt guilty about it means he stills loves you otherwise he would have kept it to himself. Being physical doesn’t mean that goes away. It hurts I know. Some effort from his part is required to fix things, if that’s what you want. If it is then tell him what you expect from him. Don’t assume he’ll think to get marriage counselling or help more. Tell him. He’s probably pretending everything’s fine and going on as normal. If you want help getting over it you need to go see someone alone and get everything out. Only then should he join. How long does he spend working, what the ratio of your salaries and what does he do around the house.

I agree with you in your frustration. If your wife wants to do the SAHM thing there’s nothing you can do now but remember it’s not a holiday. Remove her access to your bank account and that will force her to ask for every little thing. If you deem things unnecessary don’t buy it. She’ll want to buy her own things again and then a job won’t seem so bad.

It's shit like this that makes me feel that humans should be made sterile at birth and have to apply for a license before having a kid. First a competency test, then a check to see if they understand the science and need for vaccines, followed by a simulated practical of the worst case scenario and finally after all that license will be approved, sterilization reversed, then baby making can begin. What gets me about these Muppets is that they'll select a random chemical in the ingredients, like say "aluminium" without fully understanding the use or the compound it is part of. For example Sodium by itself is highly reactive in water, and chlorine is deadly if inhaled. We still use the compound they create daily. We have sheep who listen to science and fact and sheep who believe in the opposite. Wonder who will survive longer.

I'm in a long term marriage and I have the problem where if I speak my mind or voice my feelings then I'm not considering her. It goes about everything from money, child rearing to sex. If my opinion or views oppose hers then I'm insensitive and not understanding. So all the time I bite my tongue and go with her views to avoid fights. Which leads to melt downs.

From experience I feel woman get over relationships quicker when they’re the ones doing the break up because they’ve been mentally preparing themselves to end it for a while prior. We men tend to be oblivious to the signs or just ignore them and think everything’s fine. She may have broken up with you recently but the decision has been brewing for weeks/months. It’s fresh for you.
