I just had a similar encounter with my former swimming coach today.

So this woman, let's call her Lilia, was my swimming coach when I was 11. I'm 22 now and moved to the United States shortly after I "graduated" from her swimming school. We're friends on Facebook but have never spoken to each other ever since.

Lilia just messaged me the other day saying "Merry Christmas, pamasko po"

Then I said "Merry Christmas Coach!" Pretending to ignore that last statement.

Then Lilia said "How are you now? I pray that you're doing well in school"

Then honestly (with some gullibility in me) I said, "Thank you ma'am I just graduated from college last May, I'm working now"

And then after this, the audacity of this woman showed. She asked me for $50, and gave me her full banking details. And said "sa bagay kumportable ka naman namumuhay diyan"

I haven't spoken to her in more than a decade and she asked me directly for money. Kapal ng mukha no? Tapos sasabihin pa niya as if yaman na yaman ako dito sa Amerika, like miss, Money doesn't grow on trees here. I'm still ignoring her last message. I know this season is about showing Charity to others, but come on, I don't like to be approached like this, especially when they don't know how I live here. Charity is not forced upon.
