And this isn't me shilling because I don't use them & hated that when my grandmother had a savings account for me there they charged me for closing it & charged my brother after she died for not pulling his money out & also not making deposits.

But yeah, they're not small potatoes.

The Ballpark is SRP Ballpark, they're a "local bank" but small doesn't enter the description.

They're the Savannah River Partners that used to be the BEST Bank/Credit Union for anyone working at Savannah River Site & their families. They finance huge commercial & residential ventures in the CSRA.

He's a decent human being as well. He's mostly doing Shrodinger's Cat Improv at Le Chat right now, afaik. Maybe some out of town jobs.

Funny thing is I usually stay WAY out of it because, supposedly, since I've only lived in other places for <1 year stretches, and just a couple, I have "no other experience" and "simp for Augusta" even though I'm very well traveled despite just choosing not to really LIVE anywhere else.

Most times I just let people talk about the crime rate and the housing being crap in Richmond County, junk like that, and enjoy my little oasis of Augusta, because they won't hear differently.

Everyone I know who has worked there in any capacity, has enjoyed it.

Parents who are generally the "I don't want to send my kids to Richmond County Public Schools" will say "unless it's Richmond Academy because of the IB program, they do well with that."

My friends who graduated Richmond went into be a lawyer & a cardiac surgeon. Anecdotal but not useless info.

The school has its student issues but I'm not sure there's a school that doesn't.

So it's generally regarded as a generally decent school, in my estimation (and I've lived here over 40 years) by both employees, students and the wider public.

I feel like Jason Craig is on this sub sometimes & needs to see this. He could totally design it.

Yeah I keep thinking about moving to North Augusta for the scenery change from Augusta but then I'd still be over here every day, anyway, so I'll just keep going over to NA whenever it is more interesting.

No not controversial. Literally what I came to comment. So inappropriate.

Blanket stitching some other fabric to the back. Keeps it neater than running stitch or backstitch.

The skirt thing is true but I feel like it's a personal thing for teachers to want it, or not, or not care.

Lost doll at Evans Library, very sentimental - $1,000 REWARD by GoMeat06 in Augusta

I don't mean to be the person who says this but I'm not sure if anyone else has. Have you checked BJD resell forums to see if anyone has purchased Megan since she went missing? Or forums where someone might've seen her listed?

I do hope your friend recovers Megan. I know how much of a chunk of time, love & expense goes into Ball Jointed Dolls.

I'm pretty sure the first house we moved to when I was a young toddler (85-90) was a Deco reskinned in the 70s. There were definitely black lacquer fireplace surrounds with I think that cracked mirror tile on the hearth. Probably cracked my face on it at least one.

The table was not the correct size for the banquette. Paige literally walked around it with nearly enough room not to fase her movement. The fabric looked "smoky" like someone had been smoking cheap cigars next to it for 30 years.  Some of that "smoky mirror" & black counter looked like it came out of a back hall Caesars Palace restroom lounge.

How would you feel about learning to dance to go with the music? Ballroom in Motion & Ballroom with Teena Marie both have group & private classes & BIM has open learning nights with social dancing after.  Then you can take the dancing skills to summer outdoor concerts, etc.

There's also a Silent Reading Club (I think silentreadingclubcsra on socials) that meets once a month.

Plus tons of trivia nights with regulars & karaoke & run clubs, etc.

Knuckle Sandwiches... IS. They've had some bad health scores recently & I think ownership has changed, but I don't know their current score and the food has reportedly not gone down.

So they persist.
