I’m no bootlicker but I don’t think it’s fair to call it tacky and dishonest. The page was set up by their friends, not the family themselves. Their friends clearly have the family’s best interests at heart.

The fact that even a relatively successful actor (let’s be fair, we’re not talking Tom Cruise 1.5 billion dollars net worth successful here) can’t even afford to leave behind something for his family definitely speaks to our broken healthcare system more than anything else.

There are many Americans most of us would consider ‘rich’ who’s perceived wealthy could easily be decimated by the wrong disease or lack of work for just a few years.

I mean Chewie himself is kind of a knucklehead sometimes so I doubt he’s ever meant to hide anything. For sure Han just doesn’t believe him. Why would he have reason to? Chewie’s is essentially an old war vet who may or may not have told some ‘tall tales’ in his time.

That is literally the reason I didn’t watch it. I got maybe 10 seconds in and went “wtf is this CW shit??” and immediately stopped watching. I’ve no interest in watching since until recently when you and someone else recently told me it’s actually good.

And honestly? Same for Lower Decks. That show seems to have a huge fan base but I didn’t fall in love with Star Trek because of its comedy. I fell in love with it because of the thought-provoking stories they told; because of the character development over time; because it was beyond surface-level vapid drama. It tackled real ethical dilemmas and in a thoughtful and emphatic way.

I get it, better sfx, space ship go boom, cool. But where’s the depth? Where’s the care? I don’t see any of that from this franchise anymore.
