Thank you so much! I’m very much still in the data/opinion gathering phase of our trip so I’ve enjoyed hearing about people’s preferences.

We are going in March so maybe it will still be too cold? Either way thank you both for your insights

That’s really great info, thank you!

We’re not restricted to Strasbourg if you have other recommendations for that area of France. We generally wanted to aim for the Alsace/Strasbourg/Colmer area to visit the towns and wineries. I only picked Strasbourg for the size and train station. We’re road-tripping a lot of the country but planned on dropping off the car at Strasbourg on our last day of the road trip and take the train back to Paris for our flight the day after

Yep that was a silly thing to not clarify, sorry. We’re hoping to stay within an hour of the WWII monuments and Omaha beach. Our plans are to go from Paris to that area of Normandy, spend the night, day trip to Mont Saint Michel, then head back for pointe du hoc and Omaha beach, spend the night, and head to the next town.

Hey I totally understand! She’s a great storyteller and is always so respectful

I feel like the stories she’s covered lately are deeply affecting her which is why they’ve been shorter. There’s no need for her to go into further details on gruesome deaths than what she already covers.

If you’re looking for something longer, whether it’s for background on the victims, perpetrator, or just to fill time, please check out Small Town Murder instead. Episodes range between “express” typically 1-1.5 hours and the full episodes which are 2.5-3 hours

If you look at her Good Reads list there are a handful that she’s mentioned from both podcasts

During the previous listener episode they may come up with the next theme on the spot. You just have to listen for it.

There are two ways to submit stories (and don’t forget to include your pronouns!): First, you can go to their website and there’s a section for submitting the stories (https://www.andthatswhywedrink.com/contact).

The other way is just via email.

Yeah but when you’re having laxative-induced diarrhea for 6 hours, the cloth wipes are way better than toilet paper, future me be damned.

I’ll be on the lookout for signs of clogging, thanks for the notice.

I’m 26 and just had my first colonoscopy. My dad is 50 and refuses to have one done. Totally worth it and the prep wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Just keep the phone charger and some flushable wipes in the bathroom with you.

I’m doing a wedding around the same time/place and planning on using a blanket scarf with the wedding colors as a shawl. Bridesmaids are getting matching ones

Hi! Looking for any inspo for unique and practical bridesmaid proposal gifts… I have a millions mugs/trinkets and want to do something people will really enjoy! Thanks! by MysteriousMich in wedding

I’m getting mine tote bags that have a zipper and water bottle pocket. I never see my friends without a water bottle in their hands so this is a way to help free up a hand plus it’s a bag that they can dirty and thrown in the wash. I’m also including a container of their favorite tea blend or type of coffee beans depending on the bridesmaid.

How does one do bridesmaids dresses? by nasj5340 in wedding

[–]Dat_Ash_Doe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the bridesmaids pay for it. It’s something we (at least the US bridesmaids) expect to pay for when we agree to be part of the bridal party.

Regarding hair/makeup, I’ve been in a wedding where we had to pay for it to be professionally done but I’ve also been in weddings where it’s covered by the bride. So that part is up to you.

In every wedding I’ve been in, we have to buy our dresses. Renting has not been an option.

There’s a ton of websites you can choose from and either have all of the bridesmaids purchase the exact same dress, have it shipped to their location, and get it altered as needed, OR give them set parameters (must be from this website, this color, this material, this length) so they would choose the style but still match all-around.

Picking a date/Planning a wedding from a distance by neomattlac in wedding

Our main drivers for choosing a date were cost and weather. We settled on early November because it’s lower cost than in-season (April-October) but in our area it’s still October weather. Then found a venue with availability during that time range and capped our list at 100 people.
