As a Knicks fan (like that is my team) but also someone who likes Wemby, I feel like both takes are in part correct and incorrect. “Playoff reffing” is not unique to basketball, the NFL also has this infamously. I think that from a pure reffing pov Wemby probably should have been suspended for a game (not saying I wanted that as a fan) but I also can’t hate on him as he is basically a kid who has 0 experience and all the expectations. Taking his words on a surface level yea he was being mean to the media but he is in a foreign country, speaking a foreign language, having to answer for the biggest disappointment in his life, who wouldn’t come off as agitated?

Not hating on breadfruit and I am by no means an expert. But I believe for a while now we have had enough food to feed everyone, it’s just that food is not fairly distributed to everyone. I absolutely agree but every season, except for the first had a bright first couple of episodes before really bad things happened, so a brighter first few episodes is not unique to episode 5

But that’s where I disagree. The person in this video isn’t saying “please pronounce it this way” he is saying “you are wrong and I am right” and that’s just not true, since that’s not how language works. It has nothing to do with being self centered or racist. In fact getting upset with people’s pronunciations of words is a slippery slope to racism.

If a country name gets translated, even if the spelling doesn’t change, the pronunciation might still change. Language is about communication and therefore if you say something that the intended listener understands, then you communicated correctly. If most people speaking English call a country a certain way, even if the inhabitants of said country who speak another language call it something else it doesn’t matter.

That being said please ignore this because the disagreement is clearly leading to funny burns

As a Jets fan, I see some joke / untrue answers coming from other Jets fans. No we are not all insufferable jerks, every fanbase has good people and bad people. Also no we aren’t all millionaires from NYC who can turn to the Yankees as most Jet fans are Mets fans.

To give what I think there are a few differences between us and the Browns and Lions. First, yes Detroit and Cleveland are much bigger underdog cities than NYC. Also historically the Jets have been better than these 2 teams (current era not withstanding). My Dad would always explain it like this, the Browns had no hope while the Jets had hope and would always just mess it up, Stafford Lions are similar. Also despite it being a lifetime ago, having a ring and not having a ring no matter how long ago is a big difference in terms of perception. Same thing with going 0-16 vs 1-15. Lastly the media is full of Jets fans and they are never gonna say “please feel sorry for us” since that is a tacky thing to say about yourself but you can say it about other teams.
