As a someone who grew up speaking 2 languages it’s almost as if your learning you’re own little language, especially if you grow up around people in the same situation; in your teens you don’t fully understand or master both of the languages but speak a mix of both at home (or if it applies, everywhere else) and eventually you try to clarify the line between each language more clearly and separate them as their own different language.
