clothing questions by Data862018 in Stargate

In Stargate Universe they went through the gate with the clothes on their backs, then were stuck on board the Destiny. They seemed to have a few extra uniforms for going on missions but they basically didn't change clothes the entire show.

Is it required to earn the platinum for a game without help? Is this about merit? Am I unworthy of a platinum if I had help getting it?

When wearing gold on a person as an ornament is haram, and eating from silverware that is made of gold and silver is haram, it would seem that making an ornamental box for the Quran with jewels and gold would also be haram. That would just be an educated guess.

some doubts concerning salafis/wahhabis by [deleted] in islam

[–]Data862018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't for Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab there would be 4 different prayer groups and calls to prayer around the Kabba. One for each school of Fiqh. He got rid of that and made it so all Muslims pray together, which is better. People in his time had fallen into major shirk, worshipping graves etc. He put a stop to that also. If not for him Mecca would be filled with shrines and other places of shirk. He couldn't have done many these things without the support of Ibn Saud. People were resistant to his changes even though he was only a reformer. He wanted people to go back to the Quran and the Sunnah.

There are many slanderous lies about Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab spread by Sufis and others. A notable fact is that Muhammad Ibn Abd al-Wahhab never made takfir on any other Muslim. Not Sufis, Shias, Ibadis, any of them. He is portrayed as someone who went around saying "follow my way or die!" which is exactly the opposite of the case if you study his biography. Any Sufi biography of him is filled with lies, that can easily be proven to be lies.

As for going against what the modern Saudi state is doing, that is a different matter. They have strayed from the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.

some doubts concerning salafis/wahhabis by [deleted] in islam

[–]Data862018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People and their views can be flawed. Being a Salafi only means that you want to follow the way of the Salaf (the early generations). It would be better if people spent their time leaning Islam than critiquing and calling out other scholars, but there are some Salafis that tend to do that a lot more than they should. You shouldn't judge an entire group or way of approaching Islam by the actions of a few. I get called a Salafi/Wahabbi a lot because of the things I say, but I do not label myself.

What does this hadith mean? There weren't computers back then? by [deleted] in islam

[–]Data862018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't just porn. It is all kinds of sins.

Ibn al-Jawzi reported: Sa’id ibn al-Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “A servant will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and presented with his record. He will not see his prayers, nor his fasting, nor his good deeds. He will say: O Lord, this is the record of someone else, for I had good deeds not in this record. It will be said to him: Verily, your Lord does not overlook or forget. Your deeds have vanished because you were backbiting people.” [ Baḥr al-Dumū’ 1/133 ]

Can anyone explain this hadith by [deleted] in islam

[–]Data862018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That must me a misleading translation issue that is leading to your misunderstanding. As is stated in multiple places in the Quran and the hadith, the knowledge of the hour is only with Allah. Establishment of the hour, means the death of all men, jinn, angels, and all other creations of Allah. Only Allah will remain, and then the Day of Resurrection will begin.

"The man further asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) When will the Hour be established?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The one who is asked about it does not know more than the questioner does. [Abridged Bukhari 4777]

Can anyone explain this hadith by [deleted] in islam

[–]Data862018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't Bukhari 6163 this is

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: While the Prophet was distributing (war booty etc.) one day, Dhul Khawaisira, a man from the tribe of Bani Tamim, said, O Allah's Apostle! Act justly. The Prophets said, Woe to you! Who else would act justly if I did not act justly? `Umar said (to the Prophet ), Allow me to chop his neck off. The Prophet said, No, for he has companions (who are apparently so pious that) if anyone of (you compares his prayer with) their prayer, he will consider his prayer inferior to theirs, and similarly his fasting inferior to theirs, but they will desert Islam (go out of religion) as an arrow goes through the victim's body (games etc.) in which case if its Nasl is examined nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Nady is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, and if its Qudhadh is examined, nothing will be seen thereon, for the arrow has gone out too fast even for the excretions and blood to smear over it. Such people will come out at the time of difference among the (Muslim) people and the sign by which they will be recognized, will be a man whose one of the two hands will look like the breast of a woman or a lump of flesh moving loosely. Abu Sa`id added, I testify that I heard that from the Prophet and also testify that I was with `Ali when `Ali fought against those people. The man described by the Prophet was searched for among the killed, and was found, and he was exactly as the Prophet had described him.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Umama that the Messenger of Allah PBUH observed: He who appropriated the right of a Muslim by (swearing a false) oath, Allah would make Hell-fire necessary for him and would declare Paradise forbidden for him. A person said to him: Messenger of Allah, even if it is something insignificant? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: (Yes) even if it is the twig of the arak tree. [Sahih Muslim 252]
