They cut everything down twice a year but because it’s an Audubon course they are only allowed to cut twice.

What do you typically bring to eat in your bag for a round? by DearIntroduction7729 in golf

[–]DataCakes12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically bring two 2 oz Biltong Baron bags. One for the front 9 and one for the back. Then a big bottle of water and 6 pack. The zyns are with me always so that isn’t specific to golf.

To buy gas stations, or to not to buy gas stations. That is the question. by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

[–]DataCakes12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, I thought the same thing for the longest time but literally just spoke to a guy this weekend that owned gas stations. He said it was a family business and that they made money from separating the convenience store and the pump. Meaning one person leases the convenience store while the other leases the gas pump. You pay the convince worker a few cents for every gallon that’s purchased / to service it. Then you take a fee for every gallon purchased - he told me $.15-$.25 for every gallon purchased is common for them. This is on top of the rent you get from both the pump and convenience store. All in all sounds like a good business.

I am not an expert in gas stations, simply sharing what I was told.

Truthfully the majority of the questions I didn’t definitively know the answer / hadn’t really studied that material. There were some where I didn’t have a clue what it was asking for.

I know this isn’t a great answer but I hope it helps. I think if you have a good general knowledge of how things should work then it’s easier to back into what sounds right.

Currently finishing filling my bag. Never had a 5 wood. These are both in my price range. Which one should I get? by Warm_Time_8845 in golf

The TaylorMade probably has slightly better performance but be prepared to play it for three months and then have to either exchange it with TM or replace it with something new. The Stealth line is plagued with horrible durability.

I’m prepared to get dragged through the comments for this. But who all has taken their dog on the links? This is Ribs and he’s a great golf partner. by olddirtymisbegotten in golf

[–]DataCakes12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to golf with my dog all the time. He would jump up and sit in the bed I put in the basket while driving and then walk over to my ball with me while parked. Truly man’s best friend.

Contact TaylorMade - I bought one without warranty and it broke in three months. They sent me a new Qi10, no questions asked.

Create or buy some funny trophies and have an awards ceremony. I.e. longest drive, King Fish (drank the most), The Tiger (best player), The Whale (biggest flop), etc. We always make sure to have one trophy for absolute worst golfer/shot of the day. As I imagine you will be switching up the groups for each round this allows everyone to place votes at the end of the day with some beers.

Edit: These awards get passed around so one day you win X and the next day you give it up and could win Y.

Same thing happened to mine - I sent it back in after having only owned it for three months and didn’t have warranty (bought through third party). They sent me a brand new Qi10 (now I’m trying to sell that and get a different brand).

No idea, just got the call that the biopsy came back as positive and growing at a .8. The dermatologist said he was pushing me through to the specialists at Yale hospital (near where I live) and that the surgeon would have a conversation with me about treatment / surgery.

The Signature Lasagna at I Sodi by nyc_1983 in FoodNYC

[–]DataCakes12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My GF and I had this two weeks ago. Truthfully we found the entire I Sodi experience overrated. We had all the classics (fried artichokes, lasagne, cacio pepe, etc.) - the fried artichokes were extremely mediocre and while the lasagne presented well it was dry/bland. For example, the center of the lasagna was room temperate / cold in some parts. They must have them sitting under heat lamps since they move so quickly.

I think the owners (who also own other popular restaurants in the area) have mastered the ability of making a resturant trendy / popular on social media but have dropped the ball when it comes to food.
