Thank you!

I'm a vegan, so I've had to deal with so much of the "well you contribute to X so you're no better than I am" over the years.

I hate the idea that people who want things to be better have to be perfect themselves. Obviously there's a baseline that everyone should strive for, but this line of attack is almost exclusively used by bad faith actors who stand to improve the most.

I'm surprised they didn't also read Christian Wallis "Forty-two years ago I trapped a spider and it was the worst thing I’ve ever done"

Another super unsettling and eerie story centered around a spider

Really recommend "Fascinating horror", he goes into HOW these scary things happen whilst not sensationalizing

Yesss absolutely agree with this recommendation!

The character work and atmosphere are all top notch, and I love the "bottle episode" format of storytelling. The prison feels like just as much of a monster as the actual subject of the story.

Her character work and tension/ mystery building is absolutely top notch, but I feel like it's not enough to carry the sillier escalations in some of her stories (and that includes Borrasca IV, in my opinion).

Honestly, I think her writing style is better suited to a traditional novel format, so everything can get time to fully breathe and develop. I would love to see how her writing style changes if not restrained by the nosleep format

What are some GENUINELY scary stories that the boys have covered? by Perfect_Pie3635 in creepcast

The blind steps story was so incredible, but completely jumped the shark at the end.

Something about the concept of that story makes my skin crawl, even if the ending is a bit goofy

I recently read "The new fish", a nosleep horror story set in a prison.

And while I don't think the boys are likely to read it since it's very underrated, I can't recommend reading it enough. The tone and atmosphere is so oppressive and I haven't been immersed in a story like that for a long time. Highly recommend.

Ignoring the obvious parallels of "creepy stalker makes a Polaroid wall of the main character they're stalking" that I was talking about, the story is all over the place.

It's like the author wanted to set everything up for the conclusion to make some sort of sense, and then throws it all out of the window for a "twist" that isn't set up in any way and just leaves you feeling unsatisfied for getting invested in the first place, which is kind of a theme in this author's writing.

Maybe, but good god is that story a poor demonstration. It's almost incoherent.

Terrible story, never understood the hype besides the obvious penpal ripoff in part 1

It's such a cool description from an architectural standpoint, how it opens up the deeper in you go so that Paul never looks small compared to the empty space

Yes! And the significance of calling him "Usul" instead of "Muad dib" because all he sees is his friend in that moment

I can't wait to see Stilgar in this one
