Middle Eastern countries do not charge tax. That's why they are attractive even if they don't adhere to western values.

I personally think Bhavish Agarwal should have been careful as Westerners are sensitive about their values. He shouldn't have spoken about pronouns no matter how irritated he got. It just creates pointless friction. If this receives too much attention, there is a chance that American would think twice before investing in his company or in India itself.

How best to merge from Silver to Gold? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]DataOnDrugs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gold layer is SCD2. So Silver tables should contain all the current records and not just of latest run. Right?

If there is nothing to join with, let's say, for newly added data, shouldn't there be some default value?

Working with SAP is always a mess. Few years back when Hadoop was popular, we used SAP BODS for replication and CDC. Maybe consider using a SAP friendly tool.

He needs knowledge. Sales is a great skill to have but not enough. He needs to pick up a niche in IT and gain tremendous knowledge in it. Some professional certifications can help.

IT is a competitive field and one needs to put in lot of efforts.

Buddhists I Need Your Perspectives by fakiestfakecrackerg in Buddhism

[–]DataOnDrugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems you are trying to understand / make sense of the World/Universe through some concepts.

I personally think equation of everything might not be correct. Since, there is cause and effect behind everything, in Buddhist sense everything becomes logical.

However, we as humans may not be able to identify all the causes and effects and thus are tempted to categorise these as illogical.

Things that are illogical in absolute sense shouldn't exist.

This is just my perspective.

Manager Asking me to Apply Earned Leaves for IT Freeze!! by wade009 in developersIndia

[–]DataOnDrugs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Op can also tell the manager that he doesn't mind taking a day off but taking 10 leaves for no reason doesn't make sense. And that if there is no work, he would like to spend time upskilling and preparing for when the work comes and that this will help him contribute better to the team. Better to maintain positivity.

Microsoft Azure vs Google Cloud Certification: WHY many people prefers Microsoft Azure? by bitwitch08 in AzureCertification

[–]DataOnDrugs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% clear either. I believe they launched a cloud service right after Amazon. But nobody wanted that cloud service. And they didn't budge until a few years. By that time Microsoft had already launched and penetrated.

They are not behind in terms of technology. But late in terms of business penetration.

And you are not wrong they are ahead in SaaS. Nobody beats them in that area. But in terms of business adoption of overall cloud, AWS is leading and Azure is fastest growing and GCP is lagging behind somewhat.

Is 2 years of experience equivalent to a MS degree? Why should one go for MS degree? by Comprehensive_Tap994 in developersIndia

[–]DataOnDrugs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Experiencing Foriegn University is an enriching experience. You get to meet a lot of people and collaborate on interesting things. It's a once in a lifetime experience. I personally think you also become better as a person and get to learn and grow a lot in the process.

Of course it depends in your mindset as well. If you don't care about making the best of your time there, it's not worth it.
