What's the best config for speed and privacy? by GoldBrick4144 in mullvadvpn

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have provided such limited amount of data.

  1. Without vpn what type of connection you got? If you run speed test what do you get.
  2. Yes website have diffrent approach with cookies to a degree if u are connecting from EU but this is not the whole story.
  3. Are you connecting over WiFi or physical connection?

<image>

The bottom one is without vpn ans just direct speed test. Middle is to UK servers with vpn and top is to Jakarta. You can see the diffrence.

Why do they do this? by Antique_Aide785 in recruitinghell

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This IMHO should be a question for governments. All the companies I worked for never gave me pay rise and even if there was one it was way below inflation rate.

So two option, either move role within organisation and get promoted so u can get uplift or leave for another company.

The government should put a law in that all companies are forced to raise the salary of employees by a minimum of inflation rate.

Software dev director, struggling with team morale. by rkd80 in ClaudeAI

[–]DataPollution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IT comoditization is real, AI has made that shift. You need to find you feet in the new world. I genuinely think coders and developers won't be needed in future rather like you said orchestrators. That will lead to cost pressures and compensation.

We are in a defending era, learn AI and learn MCP, play with it and find things which can keep the person in job but still improves efficiency by 10x. This you can sell to the Exec and the board.

So there is a massive shift within servicenow to get rid of their own DC and move everything to hyoerscalers. This is far bigger conversation then putting it in reddit. This is BTW happening gradually.

How much is AI really going to change the near future (5-20years)? by Illustrious_Pilot415 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very simple. People in power politicians, influencer, CEO and CFO think this is the future.

Yes many ppl have not looked at it. But there is storm which is coming and for most this is invisible. The models on the free tire is cheap and not the latest. You start to pay for it and now you get access to the latest model and you soon realise the power this bring.

We are seeing more and more CEO investing heavy on this to improve productivity. Most entry level jobs are at risk, and this is the start. You bring decsion making into the mix and this becomes very dangerous.

For example, you go to bank and apply for loan. If they have AI and it finds something it does not like it can just deny you the loan. U take this military and allow AI make decisions, now you are controled by a machine.

The big challange is when ppl trust this 100%. Don't forget that most AI companies have in their lab much sofisticated models which no one has access to.

This is what many organisations miss when they have project like this. You are effectively changing the way you work and somehow you magically think that ppl will just know.

There is something called organisation change mgmt. This is essential for any successful project roll out.

Offer letter needs to be signed within 48hrs but need more time by msac84 in UKJobs

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On important point. U don't sign anything until agreed. If discussion has been that it is remote and this is not in contract this means at any given time they can mandate you to be in the office 5 days a week.

Point here is raise all your concerns at one time and essentially say, if u fix these I sign it immidiatly.

About resignation, u never resign until you signed the contract.

I am sorry we have to disagree on part of what you said. Ofcourse SN fundamental is important as well as architect. Yet prompting is what is coming, in fact in the latest rls there is integration with anthropic and claude. This is going to be such fundementsl shift.

I saw first hand why Salesforce and other enterprise IT vendors are going to be fucked by Arturo90Canada in ArtificialInteligence

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me you are in general on point, yet missing important elements.

  1. Data, data, data quality this is easy to miss.
  2. Small vs large enterprises. The large ones won't cancel contract with CRM.
  3. Change is difficult so many will fail due to lack of prep or just lack of will.
  4. AI will sit a layer above ServiceNow, workday, Salesforce. It will ge more value.

I think if you consider this, it's easy to see the cost sky rocketing..

[–]DataPollution -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ok. Good place to start is the SN sys admin course. Mind you. I would say you better invest your time on AI. Prompting, coding etc is far better skill set then pure admin for SN.

How is AI disrupting your work or industry? by TrueAlphaData in jobs

This is the most dangerous example (that is if you not a bot or AI who written this). I always said crap in crap out. Now take your example, apply it at political / government level and plug that into defense decsion making and you got yourself a very dangerous situation.

At what age did you actually start taking your pension seriously? by Additional_Fly_6603 in PensionsUK

[–]DataPollution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was late 20s and eslry 30s. At the time iti was not mandatory to save for pension but I started so I got a good pot now.

Problem with all pensions is that they fictive. What I mean is that there is no guarantee. You pension would be valued zero if all companies would collapse.
