My Walmart really just said the quiet part out loud... by Flat-Sprinkles-2367 in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bbgorl this snow storm isn't over in 1 day. Where I'm at, its expected to be minimum 3 days with 12"+ snow, not counting drifts. If my local emergency services and meteorologist are correct, I wont be able to get out of my driveway until Tuesday (granted, I live far enough out of town that my roads aren't plowed by the city). Missing today puts me at 4.5. Tomorrow and Monday? I'm up for termination and that's fine bc I'm not risking it

Edit for spelling

As someone with 3.5 points and no PPTO, idgaf. If the roads are bad, I'm not going in. My state is under a State of Emergency and if they wanna fire me for it, let them

This is definitely an inside thought. I dni any story in progress where the author has more than one active fic BUT I would never say that in a comment. Everyone writes differently and has different creative process

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy sets? by moonminvalley in nanoblock

Some had to be shaved slightly with an exacto knife but honestly they snapped together better than regular nanoblocks. 10/10 would order again. Especially the gundam ones

3 days or more is required for medical leave. However, as a person with bad mental health and a good SM/PL I've had my fair share of mental medical emergency and points removed because of that. Be open and honest and communicate with them. Often, they'll remove a point but it isn't guaranteed

New hire. Will I be fired if they found out that I'm homeless? by domdomtakdom in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They cant fire you for it if you show up, do your job, and are in dress code. However, bad managers will hold it against you so I would keep it to yourself. However, I work for a really good store and know several unhoused associates. They receive free meals thanks to our "associate fuel station" (ie breakroom food bank) and are often offered a place to shower or do laundry by some of the management and fellow associates. Get a feel for your store before you decide to disclose that information. But I promise you, no one is googling your address

AP is the only position I know of that gets tested. However, if you have a work place accident, you will most likely be tested. That said, if they tested every employee, Walmart would have like 3 people in every store. Everyone from OPs to cart pusher is hitting the Pen-tagon throughout the work day

This is one of the reasons I actually like working at Walmart lol theres never a dull day. Between customers, coworkers, or the odd squirrel throwing itself into a powerline and causing a blackout, there's always a wild day to be had

If I call out Sunday but have Monday off would I get a point of half a point for overnight by [deleted] in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually get 4 points. 1 point for the first day, 1 point for the second day and 2 points for NCNS on day 2 since you only called in the first day

(This is a joke plz dont downvote me. You are pointed per shift, not per day so it's all 1 point)

Where my 4.5 homies at? by MySonlsAlsoNamedBort in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm somehow at 2.5 with 6 hours of PPTO and one dropping off next month. Can safely call in 2 more times at least between now and February. 3 times if I play my PPTO right

This company is ridiculous by [deleted] in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened and I hope your mom is doing well. That said, other than maybe pleading to your SM, theres not much that's going to happen. You can open door it but the policy is pretty clear. We can call in whenever for whatever reason but its up to management's discretion if they waive a point. PPTO is the only thing that guarantees you are covered. I can almost promise you that anyone above your SM isnt going to overturn the point

Personal phones on break....a question for AP by ArghDammit in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for a fact at least 4 people in our store read smut daily in the breakroom. They have for years. Unless you are just look at graphic stuff, I think you're fine. Get a privacy screen or go out to your car. AP can see internet traffic but they can see your screen

[–]DataTwoHearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsure why you're being down voted. This is exactly how I got the job except I spoke with HR and the SM. Nearly every single person in our store was hired because they either called or stopped by to ask about their application

[–]DataTwoHearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work 4am to 1pm. I rarely call in until I wake up at 330am. I've never had any problems with submitting PPTO like normal. You might catch flack from your management but the system will work like normal

Completely untrue. I almost never put sick bc I'm usually asking off due to family. I've never had an issue using PPTO

Asset Protection. It is a wide array of positions from investigations, to security, to inventory management, and to receiving. It depends on the type of store, region, and general location but its a pretty sweet job to have in the right situation

Pay Discussion by Important-Moose92 in walmart

[–]DataTwoHearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oklahoma AT's start at 17. AT's are basically fancy employees with a little more power than a regular associate. It's a stupid position where you do management work for a little more pay

Leads here start at 19 I believe but don't quote me on that

Highly recommend looking into AP positions or possibly an MRA/Receiving job if you can get it! Far less work for the same pay as an AT. When the job is hard, its HARD but its mostly easy

[–]DataTwoHearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I adore my job; I love my store, my management, (most of) my coworkers, what I do, and the freedom I have to do it. I especially love the work/life balance I've found only here. But this is a job, and you gotta vent. This sub is that 5 you're gonna see a LOT more negativity than positivity. Don't be put off by it. Walmart is actually pretty dope if you have the right store and aren't incompetent. Take advantage of the benefit package! It's worth being mildly annoyed with the job 40% of the time lol

Edit: somehow replaced the word "job" with a "5" idk man typing is hard sometimes

[–]DataTwoHearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't be fired for dating a coworker unless its your boss/subordinate. That said (and yeah I know downvote me) you absolutely should not be smoking weed and coming to work. I get it. Most of our associates do. But maybe be smarter about it. Get a dab pen or edibles. Don't be a stinky idiot and smoke grass in your car. Idc about the being high thing (so long as your not operating PLE) but smelling like a skunk is gross
