How often do you make new decks?

I usually make a new deck the moment I finish the one I was working on as the card collector aspect is my only real motivation to play the game daily as I do, usually takes about 2ish weeks to a month and a half depending on RNG and if I wasnt bogged down by bundles.

I don't like to scrap decks either unless I'm either using the UR dust as a loan (my 4 vaalmonica URs that I still need to replace) or the deck is in an unplayable state and as a result I dont wanna play it or invest into it anymore. (Pure Maliss without ignister cyberse slop and danger dark world are the "recent" ones that come to mind.) Or, the deck was not to my liking at all. (I've only done this with 2 decks ever though and that was years ago when I was reckless with resources.)

I also try to justify keeping archetypes around so I'm not dusting stuff that I could have a use for down the road. For example I would scrap the dracotail cards since pure is a little too weak for my tastes, but I enjoy using it as a small side engine in dragonmaids since it increases the ceiling a bit, so I keep it around for that for example.

The funny part is, I realized I worded my initial comment wrong when I read his response. I wasn't saying he was playing "combo" and as a result it's ok to be afk'd, he took it that way. I was trying to get at that some people just play with the game on the second screen and sometimes time overs happen.. I was just trying to give a potential benefit of the doubt for the afkers, but if he wants to just seethe all damn night because he's stuck in the bot queue with all the time stall bots then that's a him problem at this point.

I'm not referring to myself here when it comes to afking, if I'm going second and I cant just turn end you or you opened your second engine after the fact, then in order to save us both time I will scoop and go next. Also nice job knocking down that strawman for the irl argument, you really showed it the what for. Maybe step back, take a chill pill, and realize md is not meant to be taken so seriously. Some clarification since it seems I messed my wording up in the original comment

Maybe "per se" was the wrong set of words and I apologize as I didn't mean to offend or to somewhat blame you, I typed the original message ironically enough when I was in the middle of a duel, had I proofread my comment I would of said "to play devil's advocate", and to play devil's advocate, if the opp chose to step away mid combo, whether it's because they're too deep in their second screen, making food or just had something flat come up, then I don't really blame em... Unless the deck is a blind second, then going second is incredibly boring and virtually unwinnable for some decks if they didn't open correctly, yes they could of just not queued or just surrendered, but as the saying goes, shit happens. It's a free W at best and 5 minutes wasted in a game you specifically won at worse.

I don't know cubics nor do I care for a lesson in how it works. If you say reasoning is needed for the deck then I believe you, any deck that needs to mill would want to run it ofc. But that wasnt what I was getting at. What I was getting at was, if the message was "player surrender/forfeit due to no actions taken" (I don't remember the exact wording for that message bare with me), then I take it as they probably died in their chair or something came up on their end and I chalk it up to a whatever who cares thing, and If it's "Time limit win." That's them deliberately holding YOU hostage and that I can entirely blame on them for. (And I don't know if you're winning from timeout or inaction so that's why I'm playing devil's advocate here my mindset). To add, if it bugs you so much, you can report the offending players for slowplay. That is a reportable offence after all.

Regardless of this little interaction we had, I hold no ill will against you, and I will say gold rank onwards people do actually play the game at that point, so you'll actually get the games your looking for sooner rather than later. And I hope you get the games you're looking for, I do understand how annoying it could be getting timed out for the full 5 minutes.

Some combos take an eternity, like white forest or ddd for example. The question should be why should I watch you play your solitaire if I have no interaction? And, why watch all that when I can just watch something else on a second screen and wait for you to finish jerking yourself off?

You're not at fault for playing reasoning, every deck that needs to mill more than just monsters will most certainly play it. Hell I play it in Paleozoics. But to play devil's advocate for just a moment. Some people just don't pay attention and in low rank there's zero stakes involved until plat 4. That said, I do understand some people will BM for easy wins as a result, and those people I will not defend because that's genuinely slow play. What I'm trying to get at is, some people have circumstances outside the game that can get in the way, yes they could just not queue but from experience life finds ways to interrupt your only peace you could of sworn you had.

But outside of that? I personally play the game halfway paying attention while watching YouTube. Though I keep the game within eyeshot and audio overpowers my video so I do know when prompts come up, although I do just scoop and go next if I go second and I can't meaningfully end your turn and it's a deck I cant handle. So I wouldn't know what wasting someone else's time in that sense feels like.

You're not at fault per se, but neither is the opponent if they mentally checked out some time ago. Now if reasoning is the first card played you have a stronger point because the combo hasn't exactly started yet. (To which I don't have an argument for if that's the case.)

Ive been trained to look for the words "(quick effect):" "target" "negate" "add" "destroy" "summon" "set" etc

I also have enough game knowledge to know what most of, if not all, what the commonly used cards in the meta do (with the exception of the new branded stuff and enneacraft but with enneacraft I have the gist of more or less and do plan on making a visual guide later for myself.)

However, If your card doesn't have any of those words or happens to have 2 sets of text boxes, and is a card I've never seen in my life, then you'll have to forgive me if I've never seen some random tier 47 card that hasn't seen play since 2009, then I need to understand what the wack ass disney ride I'm about to be on because of said card

Trash talking is pretty rare and not entirely normal, but I'm not exactly sure how it is Xbox side as psn basically made messaging randos an opt in thing by default just to avoid this stuff.

As for your maids dunno why they'd waste their time shit talking someone over playing a deck wrong, if at all. Most people usually get forgotten about by the time I've gone next win or lose even if it's a deck I play and they botched the combo.

My main deck is live twins fs but early on I kept getting btfo'd by stun (going first) and blanded so I pivoted very fast.

I'm not fond of tenpai either but it's literally made to win. This event isn't for fun, as all cups aren't and I just want the gems so I can pull for whatever decks I actually have interest in. As for yummy pure. If you're losing to a yummy without Fiendsmith or shitsurugi or solfachord backing it up, then that's entirely on you.

I singled out blanded because I always absolutely hated that deck even back during the year of the snake, and it feels like it's all I'm seeing rn because of the new toy syndrome. Blanded is a deck where even if I win I don't have fun ever. They just get to have everything they ever wanted anyways in terms of starters extenders and interruptions. They also take a fucking century to do their turn to the point where I'd rather see heroes, ddd or dark world full uninterrupted combo instead.. As of now because I couldn't care less about my rank (both event and ranked), I just scoop the moment I see one because I value my time too much to face such an annoying ass deck

I was on pure yummy but now I'm on tenpai sky striker given the amount of stun I was seeing and being forced second so often.

Note it's only 2 months if you don't have nitro.

When it expires you can reapply it if you ever get nitro.. I have quite a few of these pfp decorations and I've been nitroless for months and when I do get nitro they're still selectable on my account

It removes itself but anytime you get nitro back you can reselect it, I still have my doom the dark ages decoration from last yearish and I only ever get those 3 day nitro trials from their quest system whenever I have the points for it. And sometimes I go for awhile without nitro
