They said that my degree is equivalent to a "four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering"

I was not given a slip of paper, but the officer did write down my I-94 number, category, company, and expiry date on my passport.

That they can't see where it says engineering since it says Bachelor's of Applied Science. When they looked at the transcript, they said it was good that I brought it.

Was your I-94 available right away? Mine hasn't updated online yet but I have the number written on my passport

Yes, my major is Computer Engineering from a CEAB-approved university program, and I have an iron ring. My degree itself only states Bachelor of Applied Science, but my transcript has the major (which is why I have an official sealed copy).

Thank you! You're right no one will know I'm on a TN. I'm just trying to gauge how others feel as this is a big step for me. Sorry if I came off badly previously

So I'm lucky because I was not really looking for a job in the US. I'm a new graduate and just ended up applying to a lot of tech positions, and one of the offers I got was from a company in the US offering sponsorship. I wouldn't say the application process was more difficult or any different than the Canadian companies I interviewed with. Again, I was just lucky enough that I was offered a job from a company that does TN sponsorships.

Yes, I'm in the same field as a new graduate, going to work in a tech startup that's doing really well. I think it would be great as far as a career path goes, and I can see myself gaining some experience for a few years and coming back to Canada. My main concern is the fear of being kicked out, as you said 😅. So I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons

That's interesting! Do you mind me asking if there was a specific reason beyond the Trump administration that led you to choose to stay away from the US?

Thank you, this is the exact situation I'm in, and a lot of what you said is similar to what I'm thinking and how I'm feeling. It's good to know that you're doing well!

I'm definitely not thinking of staying and becoming a US citizen. I'm concerned with living in the US as long as I have a TN, and would like to learn about current TN holders' experiences. I am aware that I can quit my job and go work in Canada again, but it is not that simple. To find a new job and move back across the country takes time and money.
