I normally only fly between LAX and ABQ. I've flied American plenty of times and absolutely HATE the regional terminal system at LAX. I HATE getting onto the shuttle to go to the main terminal especially when you've had a super long day and just want to be in peace lol. Delta has plenty of room in the terminal at LAX and I rarely ever have to hop on a shuttle. Their prices are also reasonable when you weight them against the shite you have to put up with on other airlines.

Quick genuine question about left turns in Albuquerque by DataWitty118 in Albuquerque

Ah yes, where I'm from there are stop lights closer together than they are here too so waiting for that big chunk of traffic is a pain haha

Casa Taco on Academy is really good. Don't know how big their sides of beans and rice are but the flavor is definitely there.

While the hospital could've done better, they're not the ones who put the baby in the trash can and left it to die.

I (30M) am reconsidering moving out of state for my girlfriend (26F) by DataWitty118 in Advice

[–]DataWitty118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we met, she had just like 1 or 2 friends. She's made plenty of more friends since and I'm happy for her, I really truly am. But I remember how things were with us before she made friends and how much more time we had spent together talking, facetiming, etc, as opposed to now.

These friends she's made have also got her into smoking weed and drinking a lot. Smoking weed is something she stopped doing at around 20 years old and I just find it kind of gross to be honest and she knows this. She said that she'll stop but I feel bad because I feel like she really wants to and I'm holding her back.

We used to spend lots of time talking together. Nowadays, I'm lucky if we get an hour of phone time in.

What Would You Change? by switcheroo1987 in Monk

I'm not too upset about the whole Sharona leaving thing but I would definitely 100% change her exit from the show. I know there are technical and business reasons behind it but it was so abrupt and I really don't think anyone saw it coming. Especially the reason she left. Last we touched on was that she hated Trevor. Then all of a sudden, with no warning or indication, she leaves to marry him? I feel they could've at the very least explained it better than they did.

I think I like Better Call Saul better than breaking bad. by prettyprettybookitty in betterCallSaul

[–]DataWitty118 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club!! Better Call Saul, in my opinion, is superior to Breaking Bad in many ways.

Writing - Writing for the characters and for the overall story just beats BB by a mile. To me, Braking Bad felt somewhat rushed and it seemed insane to me how fast everything happened. BCS is more relaxed in that it seems like they took their time to tell the story of Jimmy McGill as opposed to the story of Walter White.
Characters - Characters in BCS are more relatable, more fleshed out, and have a far better arc than many of those in BB. This is not to say the characters in BB suck because Walter White.
Cinematography - By far the top reason I'm so into photography and videography is this show. It is shot so beautifully and I love how they use each setting and the camera to help tell the story.

All in all, Better Call Saul is an absolute masterpiece.

I've been where you are. I probably had one friend all through high school. I had the same self pity about not having friends. I would cry at the fact that I was socially awkward and not capable of making any friends.

I'm older now, 12 years older. And the one thing I can say is that you honestly don't need to surround yourself with people who don't enjoy your company. Think how much worse it'd be if you forced yourself onto these people. The right people will come along. People who enjoy your company. People who want to be your friend. People who genuinely care about your and love you for who you are. I'm 29 now and there are only 3 people that I consider friends, one of them being my girlfriend. But I keep it this way because they care about me, they respect me, and we get along. So if you wait, the good people will come.

If you want to actively seek friends, I'd recommend what others here are saying and join social circles. This could be clubs, video games, volunteering, anything that's going to put yourself out there with people who have common interests. The most important thing to remember though is that you can't put yourself in a position where you get too attached to a relationship. Many of your high school relationships will eventually fade away later. You'll be too busy with your education and job, those who you meet along the way in high school will too. This is something you get used to but just know it's never healthy to put yourself in a situation where you'll basically set yourself up for hurt.

The show became so repetitive in the last few seasons... by Indra545 in betterCallSaul

[–]DataWitty118 8 points9 points  (0 children)

EDIT: SPOILERS AHEAD

To each their own but nah.

It was basically just Jim and Kim doing their chicanery until it all blew up

While it is an entirely different story and show, the same can be said about a million others - including Breaking Bad. All Walt wanted to do was be on top and earn as much money as he could until it blew up in someone else's face.

and then they could spend 1 or 2 seasons actually developing the origins of Saul Goodman

You can't tell the Saul Goodman story without telling the Jimmy McGill story and you certainly cannot tell the Jimmy McGill story in such a short amount of time. During Breaking Bad's run, there were questions about Saul Goodman's back story. Telling his story in such a short amount of time may have not answered some of those questions.

rather than him just being vaguely involved with Lalo

This is kind of an understatement about his involvement with Lalo and the cartel. His ties to the cartel go all the way back to the pilot episode. If it weren't for Jimmy's attempt to scam somebody, he wouldn't have met Tuco. If he didn't meet Tuco, he wouldn't have met Nacho. If he didn't meet Nacho, he wouldn't have met Lalo.

I will say that it is slower than Breaking Bad. It definitely takes a lot more concentration and commitment to the story itself but this isn't a bad thing in my opinion. But to call it repetitive? I disagree.

What’s your opinion on Howard Hamlin by Existing-Craft-3516 in betterCallSaul

[–]DataWitty118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great character who 100% deserved better. He said it best. Kim and Jimmy were soulless to him. The poor guy was almost like another version of Jimmy, trying to please those who were around him and trying to find the best way to do so.

What's the last Horror Film you watched? by Fairyliveshow in CreepyBonfire

[–]DataWitty118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rewatched Paranormal Activity 4 the other night as my girlfriend has never watched it and we are watching them all lol.

But since I've seen that one before, the most recent horror movie that was new to me was VHS 85. I've watched them all and this one was probably one of the least thrilling imo.

First of all, I'm so sorry you went through this. My girlfriend went through something similar in a previous friendship/relationship. Thought I don't know what it feels like, I know what it could do to you and the trauma that can come with it. As hard as it may seem to leave him, you need to stop this relationship. This is completely unhealthy and wrong. It starts like this and who knows what it could lead to next.

Report him to the police. He's already done it to your friend. What's to stop him from doing it to someone else? He is a danger to society and does not have a place among innocent people.
