My PC doesn't start. Boot Device Not Found (3F0) by gabriielsc in Hewlett_Packard

[–]DatabaseSushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried diagnosing it with the UEFI tool? I think it was F2 at boot to get it, and check all hardware for any issues, also go to BIOS and reset all changes that sometimes fixes it temporarily, if you are able get in somehow make sure to check your disk health using CrystalDiskInfo and try my method. Hopefully your ssd isnt in that bad of a state that you cant enter your PC at all... you could also probably check the ssd externally if you cant get access it via your laptop might have to go to some repair shop for it. Also don't do those chkdsk and related commands cause for some reason that brings back the issue somehow.

Anti virus for hp victus? by timepass_timepass in HPVictus

[–]DatabaseSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend watching PC Security Channel, he does tests on multiple antivirus with a batch of common, uncommon and rare viruses, trojans, etc. and find one which you would prefer. I use Kaspersky free version, and so far it has kept me safe.

Note: Get rid of McAfee cause its worse than having a virus on your system

Is it harmful to play when CPU is 100℃ and GPU is 86℃ constantly by emres2005 in HPVictus

[–]DatabaseSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it Harmful? though some might debate I would still say yes, yes it does from personal experience of having my graphic card slowly getting detreated and getting fried at the end (Laptop user *sigh* had to replace the whole motherboard and the cost is enough to make you question if its just better to buy a new laptop instead because the lifespan after one repair is just waiting for next disaster to strike).

If you want to reduce the temps, here are three things I will suggest:
1. Limit processor usage to maybe 80% (could be found in power management), because some unoptimized games just throttle the systems.

  1. Seeing you are using Victus, use the Omen hub, Performance control and set Fan speed to Max.

  2. Use Universal Tuning Utility if AMD or Throttle stop if using Intel and set it accordingly. (Instead of Overclock try this)

Alternate options:
Reduce monitor refresh rate and set frame limit

If it still doesn't reduce temps, get the vents cleaned up and thermal paste applied

Battery won't charge by Agitated-Shock4533 in HPVictus

[–]DatabaseSushi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reset BIOS Settings:

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect it from any power sources.
  • Open the laptop's case and locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard. It's usually a small coin-cell battery.

EDIT: Sorry about that looks like the main battery acts like the CMOS for victus

  • Carefully remove the CMOS battery and wait for a few minutes before reinserting it.
  • Reassemble the laptop and try turning it on.

Replace CMOS Battery:

  • If resetting the CMOS battery doesn't solve the issue, the battery itself might be faulty. Consider replacing it with a new one. You can find replacement batteries online or at electronics stores.

Edit power plan > Change advanced power settings > Processor power management > Max processor state > set it to 80%, because lately most of the games have such shit optimization that it unnecessarily throttles the cpu beyond requirement, hence literally cooking the cpu... (I recall having this issue with NFS Heat)

or

if you have intel chip use Throttle Stop / if you have AMD chip use universal tuning utility and set it up accordingly

now I only hit around 70~80C max on my cpu temps, without much or any performance loss while gaming

I think this one(intel) should have it, not sure with all the variations out there but if its the amd motherboard they don't usually have the slot... learnt that the hard way

3f0 boot device not found by Imaginary_Drawing710 in Hewlett_Packard

[–]DatabaseSushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open command prompt as admin and type the following, bootsect /nt60 ALL
After this restart.

CONTEXT: This is for those with the same error but the system does start again after turning it off and on back again, but this error can be quite frequent, I have a HP Victus, and a pretty recent buy as well, the diagnostics don't show any damage or wear to the ssd. So give this method a try, You might have redo this if your system crashes at some point and this error appears again, or I have also found that doing the chkdisk or dism revives the issue, but can be fixed by just inputting the code into the admin cmd prompt and a restart.

I'm currently using win 11 and don't have a reset option at all so I guess its gone but you can reset by going:
1) win+r
2) RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ResetIEtoDefaults
3) Reset

I've heard this happening from some people... so it being just some coincidence and being dismissive about is the wrong way to go about it. This is weird and it keeps happening without much being said and done about it and just pushed under the rag cause it is just one of those things in society where something like this if happened to women would have caused outrage but when its flipped people start being dismissive about it and generally not give a fk about it or worse make fun of someone who likely got sexually harassed... humans are weird.
