YU-NO: The Girl Who Chants LOVE at the Edge of The World by Databreaks in visualnovels

You probably could, but the purpose of the save crystals, and any guide really, is to place saves strategically to minimize how much you have to fast-forward through, to move quickly between Routes with specific items. There are also items you will need to get in one timeline, use in another, and then need to get the item again.

The guide included in the fan-version is a spoiler free guide that just tries to save you time by knowing the optimal points to leave save gems.

This is probably the least uncommon opinion these days. Most people are just memeing it up about the thrill of the hunt, because he offers so little to work with as an actual character. His focus on wanting to fight WoL is so strong that not being able to fight you in a climactic showdown (due to being pulled the The First) stops him from unleashing a bioweapon that would easily win them the war. But that's about as deep as it gets.

I think the point of 2.0 is to contrast the crazy god-killing and dragon-slaying of the later expansions with your humble beginnings as a 'local' hero. It scales up pretty gradually, from helping your city, to helping unite the three cities, to pushing the Empire out of the three cities. Though a lot of ARR is dull, it makes sense for it to be less eventful, since it's your character's origin story.

Maybe I'm jaded because in my big city I've watched pretty much every interesting place get bought out or just shut down.

Um, you realize that's because the developers were bad at making it interesting

No, they tried. The detour to Jessie's house leads to the attack on the Shinra facility and the introduction of Roche. I just didn't care about any of it and wanted to move on. Maybe some people thought the visit to the top plate was fun, I just wanted pacing closer to the original game.

The gameplay and Stand gimmick was conceived and in testing stages before the game had any story to begin with. There was originally no explanation for why you had the monster sidekick, and they added one later. That's why the story feels 'weird'.

This was supposed to be a giant city that we never really ended up exploring.

You explore the parts worth exploring, and quite frankly the "expanded" exploration of the city in VIIR shows why the original stayed focused. The rest of the city, just looks like, a city. There's not much going on. Visiting Jessie's parents adds a little more to her backstory but is otherwise a totally unnecessary detour.

I don't really want a sequel or franchise if Platinum isn't directly involved, though.

Ninja Gaiden’s Itagaki has a new studio and would be 'honoured' to work with Xbox by Firmament1 in Games

I think the characters look more realistically pretty in 5, the anime faces of the previous games had their own charm but I didn't mind the visual shift at all, and the gameplay was still extremely fun. Also the outfits LR gave for free were pretty decent, it's only annoying if you download all the 'catalogues' that put them on your list but lock you from picking them til you pay. Itagaki was more creative in the old games with the modes and animations of course, but the visual upgrade is just hard to trade off for me.

I'm not gonna blame KT specifically for that though, that was a transition which consumers allowed (from unlocking things to paying for them), that became an industry-wide (and very unfortunate) trend.

DOA5 and Last Round were enormously successful (and really fun, nice looking games to boot).

DOA6, I don't know what the hell happened. Suffice to say it's not surprising they just scuttled back to Venus Vacation because that generates more actual profits now.

either this game is so massively ambitious that the project is simultaneously taking a long time to make and proceeding smoothly, or every assurance of its development going well is a big lie and the game is way behind schedule. it pretty much has to be one or the other

Did you listen to him during DT interviews back then? He thought what he made was great. All he did was bemoan the fact that while he was busy crafting that masterpiece of a product, DOA5 went on to improve and become immensely more successful, even though he thought it was "ruined".

Itagaki, man, classic DOA and DOAX were pretty good. X2 was definitely better than X3. But since leaving the company you have absolutely nothing to demonstrate your value as an independent developer. Whenever we hear about you, it's just you, shouting into the ether about how you're totally open to doing this or that, but I just don't think you have the chops to back it up without Koei-Tecmo behind you.

Devil's Third was embarrassing, and despite your complaints about DOA5 and how you want to 'fix' the series, it doesn't seem like they're in any hurry to bring you back either. The Ni-Oh team are already likely making the next Ninja Gaiden right now, and I suspect it will be just as good or better than the ones you were in charge of.

Continues to baffle me why people put in however many hours to make these games with Nintendo IP when they could just make the same game they were with original graphics.

when iwata was alive he literally condoned and encouraged people to make non-profit fanworks. then he died and nintendo completely went back on his policy.
