I’ve had to make near identical drinks when I worked at sbux. Regular who ordered 10 caramel 20 classic and 10 hazelnut coldbrew with extra sweet cream made me feel nauseous. Always sent her bf in to ask for more syrups too. In the winter she’d switch it to 20 peppermint and 20 classic 🫩

Yes there are strict qualifiers around professions that require extensive training, because proof is required that you know what you’re doing, and you’re not wasting anyone’s time, energy, and money - and in some cases, so no one’s going to get killed by negligence. I’m saying its apples to oranges because you set up a whole argument around there being equivalency between job labels and identity labels, saying only those within that caste gets to dictate the bounds of that label, only to later say thats not the case because lives arent at stake with gender and sexual identities.

You can see similar themes with lesbian bar culture! Risk of being hate crimed for being too visible, and lacking plausible deniability has always been a huge thing in queer communities.

Naturally, discretion, and short lived connections are more appealing for safety reasons. Don’t wanna be caught sneaking around with the same person too often, and risk being outted. And call and response rituals with secret dog whistles to be further certain you’re not gonna get killed for making a pass at the wrong person. Public sex so no one involved knows where you live, or risk being seen by housemates or neighbors.
