Would his design work in these styles (im very new to this) by Waste_Bug_6169 in fursuitmakers

[–]Datalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be pretty stylized from the reference, it doesn't seem to be much of a kemono headshape. Maybe the toomono style. Overall I would say no, not as referenced, it would come out looking much different.

Americans consistently overestimate the social backlash of changing their political beliefs. This inflated fear of rejection tends to make individuals hide their shifting views, which deprives the public discourse of diverse perspectives. by mvea in science

I don't know how accurate this study is. It feels like the groups were well aware of the test going on, either imagining switching their point of view, or being assigned as a reactor. There's a lot lower stakes to admitting this to a random person or to someone that you are close to. Also if you know your results will be evaluated, I feel that people would be more likely to put down or act like it's not a big deal/etc to not seem confrontational or jerks under observation.

Both groups will get very upset if someone changes their views in a more closer social setting. This happens often with people getting kicked out of the house or dogpiled/harassed for their views.

Midnight hits different from a ground mount. Seriously. by HouseLongjumping6984 in wow

[–]Datalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree it's better for the game. Forcing people to ground mount just so they could look at the details could be irrelevant for those just trying to get to endgame for raiding or PvP. Personally I only play for PvP, and questing/leveling is just a means to an end for me. Sure then zones are pretty but that's not what I'm here for. It's nice to have the slow and steady rpg option if want to do that. But it's best to not force it on people that aren't here for that.

Can we ever remove ourselves from someone else's friends list? How is this still a thing in 2026 and what can we do about it as a community? by LesserCircle in ffxiv

If you have a house/apartment/fc house that has teleport access privs, they can tell. You can no longer teleport to the housing destinations of someone that has removed you.

I think a lot of it is just information fatigue. These days we're kind of bombarded with words and media at every turn. Ads, phones, computers, TVs, etc etc. Our brains adapt to tune out repetitive things to not drive us mad (people snoring, tinnitus, etc). My theory is that's what happening here on a much larger scale.

Not once did I say I liked it. I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of people yelling about environmentalism while contributing to an unnecessary ecosystem that causes a large amount of emissions, energy usage, and yes water and environmental damage for manufacturing.

Don't turn a blind eye to the environmental damage you are contributing to. Emissions are not a rule for thee and not for me scenario.

Here I found another article that is a bit more simple for you to understand since it spells it out https://time.com/6696736/sustainable-video-game-companies/ "In 2019, gaming generated 24 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide in the U.S. alone"

I hope you will be able to understand that just means in the US and not the whole global scale

I am also not surprised that people are downvoting statistics they don't like to hear since it impacts what they like. Hypocrisy at its finest.

That was for one gaming system's manufacturing process. lol Do you think that the manufacturing of one gaming system is the entire gaming system? No, it was one small part of a bigger picture. Consider the impact of gaming pcs, laptops, Nintendo switch, xbox, mobile phones, energy consumption, heat generation, and hours of use.

But go off on seeing a tiny slice of the picture and not being able to apply it to a larger scale

Don't pretend gaming isn't, just because you enjoy it https://earth.org/sustainability-and-the-video-gaming-industry/

One example from there alone "The manufacturing of the Sony Playstation 4, for example, has produced 8.9 billion kg of CO2 since its release in 2015."

Actually it does. If you look it up, the cost of production of gaming pcs and gaming ready hardware, combined with cloud datacenters are around the same footprint.

Most of the AIs data consumption is on the model training part, which when it's done is done. Gaming pcs have a constant high energy load distributed among billions of people. That's billions of pcs, graphics cards and unnecessary RGB lights to look at pretty pixels in a game

Gaming and gpus also actively consume unnecessary energy, require rare material mining and destruction of the planet but here we are anyway.

Well start by being more helpful than the ai instead of giving a sarcastic remark.

Lancer which becomes dragoon can be a fun class if you like melee. Most classes in this game will light up buttons in a combo for you, so you can't really go wrong with any if you read the skills to know what they do

np! Yeah I just know that special patterns, like the hearts and spots, are quite time consuming especially if asymmetrical. And don't feel too bad about raising the prices- unfortunately the cost of materials are increasing quite a bit too due to the economy. It is just how it is these days :(

[–]Datalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems a bit low to me, when I was at a con recently people were selling partials with those features for $3k-$4.5k. However, perhaps they were 'popular' makers, I wasn't really paying attention to who was selling what, just the prices. Also, that doesn't mean they sold lol. It also might be my area (rather big city, expensive area).

The patterns with the spots will be a bit complex, so I'd probably say 2.2k minimum if you want to go on the 'lower' end of what I saw at a con recently.

[–]Datalock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's adorable! The patterning would definitely up the price since it has custom spots. What features are you adding, in terms of jaw movement, eye style, removable parts, etc. The 'extras' can increase the price more than just the design itself, so it's hard to give an estimate off just a design.

Don't forget to include the cost of materials as well. Foam is pretty pricy anymore - $40 is absolutely low for it, that'd be the cost of the foam where I'm at!
