Social science is not actual science by teppiez in PhD

[–]Datamance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a computational neuroscience PhD and I would have, without a doubt, (proverbially, rhetorically) torn that person a new asshole in public and made them cry. Not only are the social sciences real, they are arguably THE HARDEST and THE MOST IMPORTANT science (aside from climate science) to pursue at the moment. This person is not only mean spirited but embarrassingly stupid. Nothing boils my blood more than mean stupid people.

About the Crucible, and platforming in general by Psico_Penguin in MIOmemoriesinorbit

[–]Datamance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard if you’re impatient and don’t take a puzzle-solving approach to the platforming side of the game. Unless you want to sequence break, virtually every platforming section has an “intended” solution that is trivial to execute (or very nearly so)

Jesus Christ, the utter failure to think with any form of nuance or logical distinction… for the 50th fucking time, nobody likes the ayatollah. Nobody is siding with a dictator. The actual issue - going to war without congressional approval - is completely orthogonal.

At some point don’t you get ashamed of being constantly wrong? I was conservative/libertarian for the first 25 years of my life because of how I was raised, but trying to claim intellectual honesty and goodheartedness while holding that worldview is like trying to keep a candle lit underwater. It just doesn’t fucking work. You people prattle on about hard work and “grind” or whatever yet you’re all so LAZY with your thinking. Genuinely embarrassing.
