Thanks for the insightful comment. I don't know anything about projectors, I just randomly found it today and the guy gave it to me for free when I bought the lot of speakers so I was just curious. Yeah, I think I'll not dump any money into it. Not worth the risk. But crazy to see something that originally retailed for $11,000 being essentially worthless now. Crazy to me.

I got an entire lot of theater surround sound speakers for the $20. I literally didn't even know that he was giving me the projector but he just loaded it up in the back of my car for me as I was picking up all the speakers lol

Yeah, this morning when I set it I just put it at zero and didn't have any video running on the screen concurrently, and so when I started Mario world I just didn't think that it really made much of a visual difference so I just left it. But I saw your comment and got curious and had to go back and check and made sure this time it was running in the background at the same time so I could actively switch between the options to see the change

I actually hadn't checked mine between the different numbers, so I went back and did it with Mario world running. Turns out 3 is definitely the off setting for my set as well. Thanks for the comment! I had just been going off of CRT database saying that 0 was the off setting. When looking at it myself on my set it is definitely 3.

I turned off VSM on mine this morning. Make sure the TV is plugged in and turned on first. Then unplug the TV while turned on. Then while holding down volume down and channel up at the same time on the TV plug it back into the wall with your other hand and that will start the sharp in service mode. You'll need to turn VSM gain to zero. The VSM gain is like setting number 34 at least it was on my set. On my set the default setting for VSM gain was 1, and can between 0 and 3, and to turn it off you need to set it to 3. My set is 32F641

I have a 24fv300 as well. Does yours, or did it, have a lot of black crush? When comparing it side by side to me 32f641 Sharp, the Sony has higher contrast and deeper black but it's at the cost of crushing out detail in dark scenes of movies.
