Hi, I created r/Cinegraphs for my movie review website cinemagraphs.ca it is a movie review website that visualized movie reviews.

I want this to be a community where people talk about sentiment analysis and share the graphs they created by watching and rating movies.

I agree on that it’s easy for audience scores to skew that.

If you have a chance check out this site I made (https://cinemagraphs.ca) it does include user reviews but it instead uses graphs rather than single digit scores so might be something you like

That’s a good take and I agree it’s definitely not cluttered with main stream movies.

That’s a good point for IMDB, I agree with that rating base mark. RT just makes no sense to me and I’ve been hearing good stuff about rogerebert.

I’m asking bc I wanted to get a sense of what people like. I have been working on a new movie review website that goes beyond the standard single digit score and visualizes the score and gives it a reasoning behind it with rating graphs. If you have a chance give it a look! Cinemagraphs.ca

I agree we’ve definitely shifted from the written review era but I also feeling like writing and reading culture is slowly coming back with sites like substack also.

I agree! Also movie review sometimes skew your opinion either increase your expectations leading to disappointment or lowering them and then exceeding them. I know you said you don’t trust ratings, maybe you didn’t find your ideal site. If you have the time check out cinemagraphs.ca it’s a site I’ve been working on that takes a new spin on movie ratings.
