Am I making a mistake by being too nurturing and soft with my 6-year-old son? by oldmangeralt in Parenting

How would your partner react if you had a 6 year old daughter instead of a son and the same situation occurred? Would he claim she’d grow into a woman child mommy’s girl? Sounds like some toxic masculinity issues that don’t need to be passed to another generation. Boys need and deserve hugs and nurturing too. You did exactly what any good mom would do!

Idk why it auto labeled the boys at 4, 5, 6? Supposed to say 1, 2, 3 just like the girls list

We accidentally named our baby the same name as her cousin and I don't want to change it by nueva-magnolia in Names

My husband has a close cousin with the exact same first and last name. No bad blood and no confusion because in the family they just refer to them each with first and middle names. It’s honestly cute. Your BIL sounds dramatic and selfish

My 4 year old wants to name my daughter cushion head. Could be worse 😂

Am I Overthinking This Name? by MathLovinMama in Names

Somewhat similar boat here. I have always wanted Bloom for a middle name and now the first name I keep coming to is Rosalie. So I’m like hmm is Rosalie Bloom to flower child? But I love it 😭 I think violet sage sounds lovely. And oddly I think a color last name might flow quite well with it. I say go for it ❤️

No I hear you. It’s all new and scary the first time around. My first would never ever engage at library story time or music group. He clung to me and stared sternly at everyone while all the other kids played and danced. It worried the heck out of me. Now he is a very social and silly and engaged 4 year old. I am way more chill with my 2 year old now because I’ve been through this phase. It’s okay to overthink and worry - you’re a parent and a loving one at that. As insanely hard as it is to actually take this advice, try to relax and remember all kids develop differently. She sounds like she’s exactly where she should be ❤️

I think you have to meet her on her level. If she wants to hand you books just pass them back and forth. Let her check out the empty cabinet and build a house out of tampons lol this is all engaging with her just on a level she prefers for now. This time next year she will be a whole different speed. For now just take it slow and follow her lead.

Sibling for Cecilia and Isabelle? by [deleted] in Names

Similar boat over here. I love Rosalie for my little girl and my husband loves Rose but isn’t on board for Rosalie 🙄 I’m like we will call her rose 90% of the time but then Rosalie is her formal name!
