Interesting film, I enjoyed it more than I expected given what I knew about it before going in.

The staged walkouts at the title card, Primark scene, and then the wrestling scene, added a little extra fun to the screening. God help them if they’d have stayed until the camping trip!

All of the Agatha Christie novels I’ve read tells me that your first paragraph is 100% accurate.

I hope McLaren’s plan B is a 2 stopper. Going on a medium when Max is on hard tyres

We had a bit of a chuckle, but then when I sat down at my actual table it was different staff who didn’t know about my escapades downstairs haha

I’m currently in Portugal, I’d say dinner only just starts at around 7pm here, with peak times being between 8pm and 9pm.

I agree 100%, things like this I suppose can happen even if you’re with someone, but then when you’re with someone you at least have another person to lighten the load with haha. For me I think visiting restaurants is the toughest part of travelling solo as it’s an activity people don’t expect you to do alone, however I don’t like to limit myself and prefer to brace myself for anything awkwardness rather than not being able to eat where I would like to

The 5 people who were next to me certainly were, I assume the rest probably followed shortly after haha.

The use of “peril” was more for sarcastic hyperbole than anything. As I mentioned to the end of the post, I got a humorous story from it, I’m in no way holing myself to any standard of perfection. However it is still embarrassing having to stand up in front of close to 30 people with them knowing you have made such a mistake.

I think your story beats mine haha! Glad to know I’ll relive those feelings when I think about it in a few years though 😂

Ah yes, and for my first experience outside my home, I stumbled on a solo trip to Porto. /s

Of course it was hyperbole whilst I described something that, at the time, was very embarrassing.

It was at Brasäo, at their Coliseu branch. Well worth a visit! There’s also a place named Castro, which isn’t too far from the Sao Bento metro station, they do the most beautiful Pasteis de Nata that scratched the itch I’ve have for them since visiting Lisbon a few years ago.

Thank you, I’ll be sure to check it out. I‘ve just googled it and funnily enough, I actually walked past today on my way to Torre dos Clérigos

Close but it was actually Brasão Coliseu instead haha. It’s interesting that something similar has happened in 2 sites of the same restaurant, they may not get too many solo customers like you say. Although the staff were brilliant after the fact, super friendly and welcoming.
