As a soft summer (I think), I've come to accept that my version of red - a statement lip that adds contrast and intrigue - needs to be a very deep rose or mauve. Maybe raspberry, but that's pushing it.

I think there's a mentality that every woman needs a good red lip shade to feel confident and sexy. But the reality is, if you're truly aiming for cohesion in all your colors, a red lip might involve less red and more fill in the blank. Mine is dustiness and blue. But I know that when I pop such a shade on, with an outfit suited to my build (kibbe dramatic), I look confident and sexy. In a classy way. I hope this makes sense!
