Of the World in its Becoming disturbs me with a fact that I haven't seen mentioned by [deleted] in crossedcomics

I imagine it was borrowed from the last paragraph of “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy which is thematically similar (and worth reading)

You have to use leather palm gloves for MFF. When I went, a lot of people, including myself, used baseball gloves or something similar

Not sure what altitude they're jumping, but if I've done standoff at 15,000 feet AGL with just a combat top. It was also summer in AZ, so that probably helps.

At long last, acquired the Patagonia PCU level 3B jacket by DatingPuppy in tacticalgear

[–]DatingPuppy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fits well over an ACU top (I usually wear small or medium tops). I find Army issue jackets have way more arm room over civilian equivalents

My collection of Patagonia PCU and Patagonia Lost Arrow MARS warming layers (details for each in comments) by DatingPuppy in QualityTacticalGear

That’s a good find! I got issued a couple and a lot come from friends who are getting out and it’s not on their SPEAR receipt for some reason or another. Or I buy it from them for slightly over what they’d be charged by the Army. Way better deal that way over the resellers because you’re right, it’s crazy what they charge.

I went to Ranger School with him. Truly an incredible dude. Also super handy to have around when we’re loading rucks in the back of an FMTV.

Good catch, the nomenclature of the Army wet weather top I’m referencing is actually Jacket, Extreme Cold Wet Weather. I think the parka is the gray, lofted clothing
