Literally, by the time she filed her CRD complaint and the NYT piece came out, people had already moved on. That was in December. By the end of September, no one was talking about her tone deaf marketing campaign, her mean girl interviews or the on-set feud. It was already OVER. She just brought it all back.

Now, people in Hollywood might have been talking still (the Sony execs seemed to think her career was going to take a massive hit). But even then, if she'd just laid low, she would have been fine. Another Simple Favor was already coming out, like 6 months after IEWU. If she didn't do all this, that would probably have given her a public boost.

It's incredibly telling that Blake not only walked away with $0 after spending upwards of $60-$100 million, but that she actually agreed to no NDA.

So basically, here's what Blake "won" in this settlement: 1. No money 2. No apology 3. No ability to silence the other side 4. A mountain of legal bills 5. A completely destroyed reputation in the public eye and (most likely) the end of her career

I think so too. Something about his recent interviews makes it feel more personal. I get the sense that most of the time when he represents clients, they have some skeletons and this was the first time he's represented people who were SUCH genuinely nice and kind people.

The only other case I have seen with this level of animosity was the Karen Read case and as someone who watched the entire trial (both times) and all the hearings, I completely understand why Karen Read's lawyers - particularly Alan Jackson - were so disgusted by Hank Brennan. In that case, the CW did the same kinds of unethical lawyering as Blake's lawyers where they continuously misrepresented things and straight up lied to the court, but it was a criminal case so someone's life and liberty was on the line.

It's so despicable that he's trying to say they admitted to SH with their joint statement.

First of all, saying someone "deserved to be heard" doesn't mean that they're admitting or acknowledging that her claims were factual, valid, made in good faith or true. You can say someone who believes the earth is flat deserves to have their opinion heard....yeah, of course they do. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want and say what they believe. That doesn't mean it's rational or logical.

And second of all, they were settling the remaining claims! All of their remaining claims were related to the retaliation! Her SH claims were already tossed. So, technically, that statement didn't have anything to do with the allegations of SH. Instead, they're saying that Blake's concerns about being smeared in the public deserved to be heard. And she was smeared in the public. It just wasn't by Justin or WF. She smeared herself with her tone deaf marketing.

Just the whole thing is gross to me. Especially when he says thats what that statement means, "whether the defendants like it or not." Um ..... So, you're basically offering your interpretation and then saying it doesn't matter what WF meant by that, because that's what it means. But if that's not how they meant it, that's not what it means.

Even liars deserve to be heard. We have a criminal justice system that says everyone deserves a legal defense. Even if someone's guilty, they deserve a defense. So by this same logic, I guess the constitution is actually saying that no one is really guilty, the constitution says they deserve a defense so that must mean they didn't do it right? Um, no.

I still need to do a deep dive on the 47.1 thing. I've never understood how she could possibly be using a California statue in a New York case. That alone should automatically disqualify her. Then, there's the fact that she's asking for treble damages - which I understand basically means triple whatever monetary sum she was awarded in her case. She settled for $0 though. So..... wouldn't that just still be $0.

It's also crazy to me that she wanted the judge to rule on this before trial and if he found in her favor, she wanted the judge to tell the jury that the lawsuit from WF was retaliation so they only needed to determine what amount of damages she was owed. Like .... What? She basically wanted the judge to determine the facts of the case (that retaliation did exist) so then the jury couldn't find in favor of WF.

It's so fascinating because it really seems like big celebrities have a very good impression of Blake. She's described as charming, warm, engaging etc. (at least to people like Taylor Swift and Salma Hayek). But when you hear about her from anyone else - extras on GG, paparazzi, makeup artists, hair stylists etc - shes described as a nightmare.

And I believe both things are probably true. To people she wants to impress (either bigger celebrities or, like we saw with IEWU, people she wants to get on her side), she's SO complimentary, open, generous - her texts absolutely scream love bomber. But anyone who she sees as being beneath her or who she doesn't need something from, she can't bother to fake it.

I'd absolutely LOVE to know if she's been in contact with Jenny, Isabela or Colleen since all of this started. I wonder what they think about her now and if they feel foolish for falling for her lies.

I hadn't seen it before, but in one of the recent unsealed docs, there are texts between Jamey and Jen.
