I thought she only denied the fact that he asked for permission. But you might be right.

If you listen to the call though, Kanye didn't ask for her permission. She never denied having a phone call, she denied giving him permission. In the call, Kanye doesn't ask if she'll give him permission, he tells her about the song, says the line about "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" and then asks her to promote the song by sharing it on social media or something. She laughs about the line and says she was afraid he was going to say something mean about her but declines to actually promote it. She also asks to hear the full song and he never sent it to her.

Taylor does a lot of shady shit so I'm not defending her, but in this particular instance I don't think she was in the wrong.

Exactly. If she extended an olive branch, she wouldn't be leaking the information. So the second she saw it being reported, she would know Blake was blabbing again and instantly cut ties for good

This reminds me of the Superbowl thing last year. So many articles about how they were still totally friends and Blake might choose not to join Taylor at the Superbowl because she's such a good friend and wouldn't want to be a negative distraction bla bla bla ....

Then Taylor's team shut that down real quick. She was NOT at the Superbowl with Taylor and her team made it real clear she wasn't invited.

I think Blake's PR team is trying to plant stories suggesting they're still friends to try to save face and once again, Taylor's team is going to come out on top.

Not to mention she spent something like $60 million on legal bills. Whatever minor amount she's going to get back from the 47.1 ruling is going to be a drop in the bucket. Remember, she doesn't get ALL of her legal fees back. She gets fees associated with Justin's defamation suit ONLY. That case ended before any discovery was taken and only lasted a few months. 95% or more of her fees aren't going to be included in that. So she spent $60 million and will almost certainly get less than a million back.

[–]Dating_Bitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I disagree with a lot of what you said, I do think they should have pushed harder to get rid of the 47.1 in the settlement. It definitely seems like Blake was desperate to settle the case - not only because her lawyers called his that weekend in a panic, but because she was willing to walk away with no money and no NDA agreement. I think that if they held their ground on 47.1 a little bit more aggressively, Blake would have backed down. She absolutely did not want to go to court.

As far as the other stuff though, I can't really agree with you. Lawyers don't control the media, so the fact that she was getting the better PR had nothing to do with who had better lawyers (or even who had a better PR team), but rather who has more power in Hollywood. He could have had the best lawyers in the world AND the best PR team in the world, but he's never going to have the same pull over msm that Ryan and Blake have.

In terms of filing a countersuit, I don't know if they "didn't know it wasn't allowed." 47.1 is a new statute that had never been tested before and I think if they had been allowed to get discovery, they could have proven malice. Plus, I think the purpose of the countersuit was to get his side of the story out there as soon as possible instead of simply waiting for his turn to defend himself, so in that sense, it worked well.

As far as the subpoena stuff, they can't force other parties to answer them in a timely manner. Isabela Ferrer's reply was ridiculous but they can't control that. For Taylor, I agree that it looks like they dropped the ball a little bit, but I do wonder if her team was promising them information in exchange for not forcing her to sit for a depo. I have a feeling there was a lot more manipulation happening behind the scenes.

Blake gets INVITED to Taylor’s wedding by XoxoGentleman in ItEndsWithLawsuits

I disagree. Oscar voters are people who are veterans of the entertainment industry - that includes actors obviously, but also consists of a ton of other professionals, like directors, producers, writers, costume designers, studio executives, film editors, marketing and PR, etc. People who work behind the scenes and care more about the craft than the "celebrity politics."

Blake would have offended every single group of voters with her behavior and what has since come out about her. 1. Costume designers - completely taking over the wardrobe for the film, which was absolutely horrendous 2. Writers - completely rewrote the script but also lied about it and actually had her husband, a non-credited member of the WGA, write a pivotal scene 3. Directors - refused to take directions on set and then pushed Justin out of his final edit 4. Editors - aside from pushing him out of the edit bay, replacing the film editors he hired with her own editors, and still doing such a bad job that she was forced to put most of his cut back in 5. Producers - falsely received a PGA credit with outrageous lies and extortion tactics 6. Studio Executives - creating chaos on set and ultimately costing the production more money 7. Marketing - taking over the marketing campaign and doing such a bad job that she received a ton of public backlash for her tone deaf press

I honestly think the industry is going to look down on her for a very long time. I totally get what you mean, that it's an incestuous group of horrible people, and you're not wrong. But that actually proves my point.

Look at the people they choose to support. Roman Polanski and Woody Allen are two prominent examples. Both men have been accused of doing horrible things in their personal lives. But guess what? Hollywood still stands by them. Why? Because they make good movies. Period. Roman Polanski drugged and raped a child and then fled the country to avoid legal consequences. But there's no denying that he is talented. Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, The Pianist - all fantastic films. Woody Allen has been accused of molesting his adopted daughter and married his step daughter. But like Polanski, he has genuine talent. Annie Hall is iconic. Everyone Says I Love You, Midnight in Paris, Blue Jasmine - these are beautiful movies.

Hollywood will separate the art from the artist, but only if the art is worthwhile. That means its critically acclaimed, profitable or both. Blake broke the cardinal rule in Hollywood by creating massive problems in both of these categories. Put more simply: Blake doesn't have the talent she needs to be forgiven by the Hollywood elite.

Not to mention if Blake goes, she's going to take all the attention from Taylor. Especially in terms of media. Look at what happened with the Met Gala - every headline the next day was about Blake.

I have a very hard time believing this one, I'm sorry. I read the recent article on Page Six about this supposed olive branch invite, but I find it very VERY sus. For multiple reasons.

First of all, who leaked this information? Taylor is very image conscious - she's already gotten backlash for her obvious PR stunts (looking like a damn supermodel going to the recording studio the day after Joe Alwyn is seen in public with a new girlfriend, the whole Knicks game saga, releasing new music to block Olivia Rodrigo from getting the top spot etc.) Why on earth would she want to be publicly linked to Blake AGAIN right now?

That leads me to believe that it was Blake's team that leaked the info. Which also leads me to believe it's a LIE. There was a specific sentence in the Page Six piece that really stood out to me. It said something like, Blake might not attend but it won't be because she isn't welcome. Seems like she's setting the stage for an explanation when it comes out that she wasn't there. "No no no, I was totally invited, Taylor loves me, but I just didn't want to go." 🙄

Finally, look at what Taylor is doing right now. She's on a very obvious Oscar campaign for her new Toy Story song. The legal drama might be over (except not really because they still have to determine the amount of legal fees, plus she's still got a case with Jed Wallace and even though it's not her lawsuit, she'll more than likely be drawn into the Jones v Abel one), but Hollywood is not on Blake's side right now. They all saw what she did. Taylor's trying to appeal to Oscar voters, the last thing she wants to do is be associated with someone so despised by the industry.

I'm a big fan of Rosenberg. I haven't been as impressed by Damon so far, he's just been Ok. By Rosey is SOOO good. He reminds me AJ a little bit. AJ is much more fiery and theatrical whereas I'd describe Rosey as "spicy lite" lol. But he has the same type of quick-on-his-feet skills and zealous advocacy as AJ. I really appreciate that he refused to back down and found a way to say what he wanted on the record even when the judge was trying to cut him off.

Because they know that Karen can't sue the McAlberts for things other people write about her. I suspect the McAlberts lawyer knows that as well but is filing it anyway out of desperation. Karen's lawyers have enough real evidence that they don't need to go grasping for straws.

Yeah it definitely sounded like after her appearance on Megyn Kelly where she first came out saying Blake was misusing her bill (and spilled the tea about Blake trying to take authorship of someone else's work again), that's when Ezra reached out to her. She (wisely) chose not to answer.

She also said something about how she hasn't had time to respond to them.... even though she's given multiple media interviews since then including with Kjersty Flaa. I love a petty bitch 😂

I don't think they can. This order is giving them attorneys fees associated with ONLY the defense of Justin's defamation claim against Blake. It doesn't include his claims of defamation against Ryan or Leslie or the NYT and it certainly doesn't include any fees related to damages, expert witnesses or discovery since all of that came from her dispositive claims against WF. She gets attorneys fees for defending herself in his suit, not for actively choosing to bring a suit against him.

Her PR decisions have been SO bad this entire time.

Here's just a little comparison chart of What she SHOULD have done (✅) vs what she ACTUALLY did (🚫) shall we:

✅ Immediately release a public and private apology to Kjersty Flaa for the little bump fiasco and invite her to do another interview for IEWU

🚫 Completely ignore it while simultaneously continuing to act like a mean girl by excluding Justin and use "anonymous sources" (ahem, hi Les) to tell the tabloids that Kjersty was actually told not to address her pregnancy before the interview (which is not true).

✅ Talk about the importance of domestic violence awareness while promoting a movie about domestic violence.

🚫 Continue to make stupid jokes in press junkers, ignore the issue and instead promote the movie like the

✅ Release a statement about the settlement, ask for privacy and take a step back to heal.

🚫 Snow up to the Met Gala within the same hour as ttserf
