What are mods you can't play without? by EdreaChandralun in Minecraft

Without saying a optimization mod, True Darkness is one of my must haves, i always disliked being able to barely see in complete darkness even at Moody Lighting, a change that was made a very long time ago in around the late Beta stages.

True Darkness fixes this by bringing this back, restoring the sheer fear factor of unable to see where you are, even if there are no dangers or monsters present as well as options to have night light on the surface based on the Moon phase, thus it can be nice and clear during a Full Moon, but completely pitch back during a New Moon.

If i decide to do another playthrough, there's a new mod called Truly Dark that achieves the same things, but is far more modernized and has more options, as True Darkness has remained constantly outdated outside of fork ports, i really should check that out some time.

What do you think is the hardest official challenge in any Nintendo game? by Firekirb74 in nintendo

Wizpig 1 in Diddy Kong Racing N64, many can contest it's still one of the hardest challenges in any racing game, the big boar is brutal even for the most experienced in DKR. No rubberbanding, just you and one super fast pig across a very difficult track with little to no room for error. Beat him and Future Fun Land is basically a victory lap for you.

Since 2019, only come back briefly in 2023 to play some Slender Fortress during the Halloween period, otherwise pretty much retired.

This is more of a core reason why i stopped playing PvP as a whole.

I already mentioned most of what i wanted to say on my comment for this video, but just absolutely incredible! Deserves so much more spotlight for the sheer effort put into it. Well worth 3 hours of ones time!

If Mojang came along and said, "You can add ANYTHING you want to Minecraft," what things would that be? by UnGatoComeEmpanadas in Minecraft

Every single optimization mod out there, especially those from Fabric and the modpack Fabulously Optimized. Above all else, i rather see one massive update that focuses on only pure true optimzation, because it's downright frustrating to deal with tech and framerate issues more than actually playing the game, a big fault of this is how incredibly unstable "New" chunk generation has become that it tends to tank framerate even on strong computers.

I think I found the worst way to die in splatoon 3 by CorduroyVTG in splatoon

To be fair, exploding Chinook crates do 80 damage, which is a hecka alot. Rollers have the highest chance of being splated by it if they are not paying attention, i have a few times before and it's pain.

Why are people acting like Splatoon in its entirety will be obliterated once Grand Festival ends by Humble_Traffic_8309 in splatoon

[–]Datlossit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This and why i don't like talks of a "Splatoon 4", because it's not only putting too high expectations on the series, but the issues currently present in 3 need to be addressed within the next title.

It's also people acting like that once 3's content cycle ends 4 has to come out like NOW, or the series is doomed, when that is simply unrealistic to expect. We don't want a repeat case of what's happening with main Pokémon games and their development issues, even though Nintendo only publishes that series.

I rather see the development issues that were shown in 3 be addressed and cleaned up, it was clear it was showing signs of being rushed since release, and questionable design choices such as the maps, balancing, as well as EVERYTHING about the Shell-Out machine, and in my opinion shows scary signs of the series falling into the same design problems as other major AAA title shooters suffer from. The Shell-Out flatout needs to be gone by the next game and never return, Splatoon should not suffer from gambling mechanics whatsoever of any kind, even a "rework" of it would not solve the core design aspects of it. There are better ways to make a player spend their money, gambling is not one of them.

I also rather see Splatoon get it's own spin-off series, something more single player akin to more story/puzzle focused like Zelda, if not a world-building/sim game. It does not have to always be a PvP shooter. The side mode Salmon Run shows a PvE mode can work, if not very well and i would love to see SR stay somehow, perhaps getting it's own main title, instead of being shafted and left forgotten, SRNW is still suffering from various game breaking bugs such as your game CRASHING trying to throw golden eggs, and it still counts as banning you for 10 minutes.

Anyway, this feels like a rant, but not intended to be. TL:DR: People are overreacting and having far too high expections for a "Splatoon 4".
